Turning Earth is returning for another spring market at its Highgate studio to showcase a range of independent makers and ceramicists. From Saturday 1st to Sunday 2nd April, you can browse works from more than 100 artists who will be selling handmade vases, jugs, mugs, tableware and ornaments. Every piece has been made locally, so you’re guaranteed to find something unique, whether you’re shopping for your own home or looking for gifts. Lavender Green Flowers Spring Masterclasses

Lavender Green Flowers on the King’s Road is hosting a 90-minute spring planter masterclass on Saturday 1st April at 1.30pm. Suitable for all levels of experience and skill, the team will show you how to create a spring bulb arrangement using moss, twigs and heritage bulbs like white muscaris, crocuses and bridal crowns. Global star Dua Lipa created her newsletter Service95 last year. Each email contains everything from style tips and cultural recommendations to essays on social justice. To celebrate Service95’s first anniversary, Dua Lipa will be revealing the inside story of how she built the brand via a live stream on Thursday 13th April at 7pm. She’ll also discuss her ongoing podcast, the lessons she has learned so far and the realities of running a start-up while juggling life on tour. Artisanal bakery and restaurant Pophams in London Fields has opened a new shop and workshop space to showcase local craftsmanship and artisans. Set under the railway arches, the space has a curated edit of homeware, plus an events space upstairs which is set to host a range of creative workshops over the next few months. Shoppers can browse a selection of ceramics, linens and glassware, as well as a few bespoke items like rolling pins by Selwyn House and scented candles made in collaboration with East London ceramicist Andrea Roman. Once you’ve found some new pieces, stop for coffee and cake at the bakery next door.

Lío London

Regular SL readers will know we’re big fans of Pacha, so we were excited to hear the group has opened the doors to Lío London in the West End. Bringing the group’s famous cabaret restaurant and nightclub experience to the capital, the venue is open until late every Wednesday to Saturday. There’s a rotating programme each week: on Wednesdays, guests can look forward to The Owls with a range of music all evening; Thursdays are all about great underground DJs setting the vibe with a killer soundtrack; Fridays will see Lío’s signature in-house party with DJs spinning disco, house and hip-hop beats; and Saturdays will showcase the best of hip hop and reggaeton. All events take place in the main dining room, which also serves Mediterranean dishes.

Kew Gardens

On Saturday 1st April, Kew Gardens will open two exhibitions. All the Flowers Are for Me by Pakistani-American artist Anila Quayyum Agha showcases two large-scale cubes suspended from the ceiling and inspired by patterns used in Islamic art and architecture. Visitors can also see the world premiere of Plants of the Qur’ān, an exhibition featuring new botanical paintings of plants referenced in the Qur’ān. Travelling to various locations in the Middle East, botanical artist Sue Wickison has illustrated plants including garlic, pomegranate, date palms, henna and flowering desert species. Tickets to the grounds start from £17.

Today the BBC opens its immersive Earth Experience narrated by Sir David Attenborough. Wander through the Water Life room and Micro Life room to reach the Vista Stage with its 360° audio-visuals.
