Sky Garden Summer Party
On Friday 28th July, Sky Garden will host its annual summer party with event company ALR Music – the go-to team for A-list weddings. For one night only, the rooftop venue will be transformed into a Balearic-inspired party destination where guests can listen to live music by Beat, a band featuring a DJ, two soul singers, a saxophonist and a percussionist. After the set, the resident DJ will continue the party with anthems into the early hours. Tickets cost £65pp, or £75 with a glass of Moët & Chandon. You can also book tables for groups of up to six and enjoy table service and nibbles.

Hoppers Bar Takeover
Sri Lankan spot Hoppers will welcome a range of top mixologists to its King’s Cross bar and restaurant this summer. Launching today and taking place throughout August and September, events will include live music, bespoke cocktails and sharing plates from the Hoppers menu, all inspired by home cooking and street stalls in Sri Lanka and southern India. Tonight, Sri Lankan bar Smoke & Bitters (ranked in Asia’s Best 50 Bars last year) will take over the restaurant while DJ Iyre (who recently performed at Printworks) will spin tunes all evening. Order drinks like the ‘Pepper Pots’ with gin, spiced orgeat, pineapple, cumin and black pepper; and the ‘Silvertip White Negroni’ with gin, tea vermouth and Ceylon olive bitters. Mr Lyan will host the next takeover on Thursday 17th August.

The Genesis Experiences
If you loved Frameless and the David Hockney exhibition at Lightroom, book tickets to this new immersive art experience. After touring mainland Europe, The Genesis will open at the Swiss Church in Seven Dials on Friday 28th July. It’s a 30-minute, four-part experience in which moving images are projected onto the church interiors with cool custom-made 360° artwork. Light, water, earth, and plants represent the first three days of creation in Genesis, with spatial audio helping to set the scene. Tickets start from £10.

Secret Cinema will bring Grease to life with an immersive experience at the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham. For the next three weeks, guests will be transported back to Rydell High’s senior year in the summer of 1959. Canary Wharf’s annual Festival14 returns for another week of live music, theatre, dance, comedy and children’s activities. Festival highlights include a DJ set by Radio 6’s Craig Charles at Canada Square Park (Thursday 27th), a performance on the main stage by Grammy Award-winning Soul II Soul (Friday 28th), and a performance by Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Orchestra (Sunday 30th July). Take the kids to Crossrail Place Roof Garden and Westferry Circus on Saturday to watch a performance of The Princess and The Frog by Let’s All Dance, before taking part in art and craft workshops and interactive theatre. The London Art Biennale At Chelsea Town Hall
Now in its sixth year, The London Art Biennale returns to Chelsea Town Hall this weekend to showcase works by over 400 up-and-coming artists. From Thursday 27th to Sunday 30th July, visitors can see a free exhibition of paintings, illustrations, graphic prints and sculptures from artists like Sarah Pollock, Alejandra Mijares, Lilian Niese, Steven Joseph Gonsalves and Oliver Tuffen – all of which will compete for several prizes. There’s also a charity raffle draw on Friday at 3pm, when you can win dinners at top London restaurants, hotel stays and John Lewis vouchers. All proceeds will be donated to the Rotary Club of Chelsea Trust Fund which supports local community projects.
