MARK LGBTQ+ HISTORY MONTH: Positive, NOW
February is LGBTQ+ History Month, a time to shine a light on the history of the community. NOW has added a selection of TV shows and films to its platform to showcase a diverse range of LGBTQ+ characters, actors, and storylines. Our pick? Positive, which tells the story of the Aids and HIV epidemic in 1980s Britain. The three-part docuseries includes interviews with some of the earliest HIV patients and real-life heroes who discuss the tragedies and triumphs of Britain’s 40-year battle with HIV, including the creation of prevention methods such as PrEP.

PARTY LIKE YOU’RE IN RIO: Sushisamba Carnival Weekender
Tonight, until Sunday 27th February, Sushisamba is throwing an epic carnival weekender at its sites in the Heron Tower and Covent Garden. At the Covent Garden location, guests can expect Brazilian menu specials, tableside cocktails carts filled with ingredients for caipirinhas, and live samba entertainment from dancers, drummers and DJs spinning Brazilian grooves. Over at Heron Tower, there’s a ‘Casa de Samba Carnaval Blocos’ on Friday night (inspired by Rio’s carnivals), and a carnival costume party on Saturday. PLAN DATE NIGHT RIGHT: Rondo at The Hoxton, Holborn
Rondo at The Hoxton Holborn has opened its kitchen for a three-month chef series where some of the UK’s best talent will serve up three-course meals. On Saturday 26th February Dan Smith (the man behind the Michelin-starred Fordwich Arms and its new sister pub, The Bridge Arms) will cook a special lunch and dinner with Nyetimber wine pairings. The menu includes scallops with red meat radish, calamansi and smoked butter sauce; guinea fowl with white asparagus, wild garlic and Périgord truffle; and mascarpone parfait with poached rhubarb and jelly. At the end of the night, diners will be given salted caramel chocolate petit fours to enjoy at home. Tickets cost £80pp.

DISCOVER COOL ARTWORK: Art On A Postcard International Women's Day Auction
Today until Tuesday 15th March, charity Art on a Postcard is hosting its third International Woman’s Day auction, featuring work by over 200 renowned and emerging female artists. Online bidding starts at just £50 for each postcard-sized artwork, with proceeds going to The Hepatitis C Trust. Confirmed artists include Allison Katz, Lara Schnitger, Penny Goring, Florence Peake, and Emma Cousin. Look out for pieces by London-based artist Jasmine de Silva, who’s known for her fun pop-art style colours and diamond studded female bodies.

VISIT THIS COOL EXHIBITION: Collect At Somerset House
International art fair Collect returns to Somerset House this weekend. After a digital exhibition last year, visitors can see works by 13 established and up-and-coming artists and listen to talks taking place at the end of the fair and online. Most of the work has been made in the last five years, with many artists creating new work for this year’s event. All disciplines and materials are on show, from tapestry to neon, goldsmithing to lacquerware, and glass and ceramics to fibre art. Don’t miss the beautiful glass sculptures by Laura Quinn.

Tuesday was National Margarita Day, but there’s still time to get in on the action. Marsha only opened its doors last week. In Carnaby’s Kingly Court, it’s a minimal-waste chicken restaurant that uses as much of the bird as possible with a menu of small plates, roasted chicken, and burgers. Book a table to try dishes like buttermilk gochujang wings with kimchi slaw; chicken tenders with black truffle mayo; and black quinoa salad with roasted beetroot smoked almonds and black garlic dressing. BOOK AHEAD: Swan Lake
Swan Lake returns to The Royal Opera House on Tuesday 1st March with a fresh look for the 21st century. Retaining the iconic elements of the original, Liam Scarlett has created an exciting re-imagining of the classic production. As the famous story goes, Prince Siegfried goes on a hunting trip where he discovers a flock of swans. He falls in love with the Swan Queen, Odette, and swears his undying love to her. But Odette can only take human form between midnight and daybreak thanks to a curse from the evil sorcerer Rothbart. With a magical score from Tchaikovsky, this production is not to be missed.
