Charlotte Street Hotel in Soho has created a new series of its Firmdale Book Salon in which renowned authors talk about the stories, challenges and inspiration behind their bestselling works and latest projects. Tonight at 6.30pm, authors Sarah Vaughan (Anatomy of a Scandal) and Karin Slaughter (Pieces of Her) will join journalist and debut author Kate Maxwell for an in-depth conversation about their Netflix adaptions, followed by an audience Q&A and book signing. Elvis x Everyman

Baz Luhrmann’s Elvis hits the big screen on Friday. To celebrate, Everyman cinemas across the UK are hosting a special 50s-inspired evening with immersive entertainment and all-American food and snacks. On Friday 24th June from 8.30pm, 31 venues nationwide will become retro bars with corn dogs, chips and dips and American cocktails. Expect rock ’n’ roll performances and other slick entertainment before the film. Guests are encouraged to arrive in full 50s attire (think red lipstick and petticoats); tickets cost £40pp.

The Giorgio Armani Tennis Classic returns to the Hurlingham Club this weekend with a star-studded line-up. Until Sunday 26th June, guests can get a first look at the sport’s hottest new prospect, Carlos Alcaraz, as well as rival young tyros like Felix Auger-Aliassime, Casper Ruud and Denis Shapovalov. Old masters such as Lleyton Hewitt, Mansour Bahrami and Greg Rusedski will also be putting in appearances as part of the ATP Champions Tour UK taking place at the same time. Soho’s Italian gelateria Gelupo is hosting a strawberry festival over the next few weeks. Today until Sunday 10th July, Sagra Delle Fragole celebrates strawberries coming into season and coincides with the Wimbledon Championships. Guests can try new gelato flavours like strawberry pink peppercorn, strawberry sherbet, Eton mess, and rice pudding with fresh strawberries and cinnamon. Welcome Home Dippy at the Natural History Museum

Dippy, the Natural History Museum’s diplodocus skeleton, has returned to the museum after a five-year tour around the UK. To celebrate his return, the museum is hosting a special event with palaeontologists and conservationists on Friday 24th June from 6.30pm. Guests will learn what it takes to look after the 292-bone skeleton of a 26m-long diplodocus and find out what other creatures roamed the earth with dinosaurs. On the night, you can also pay for a 30-minute tour of the Tank Room where hundreds of ancient specimens are stored in alcohol. Tickets cost £19.

Gunpowder in Tower Bridge has launched a Fête menu that’s available until the end of June. It features rock oysters with a selection of Indian toppings like beetroot and green chilli granita; mango, kasundi and black caviar; grilled oysters with curry leaf and fermented tapioca pearls; and an indulgent curry leaf butter. Diners can enjoy six oysters and a glass of Charles Vercy champagne for £40.

Stripes Amalfi Terrace at Brown Hart Gardens

Brown Hart Gardens in Mayfair has transformed its outdoor space into an Amalfi Coast-inspired terrace. Lined with lemon trees and Mediterranean foliage, guests can sit on striped sun loungers to enjoy food and drink from the new menu. Order pinsas (a lighter alternative to traditional pizzas) with toppings like asparagus, vegan curd and Amalfi lemon; caviar and crème fraiche; and burrata, truffle and fior di latte. You can also choose from Italian street food, cold dishes from the oyster bar, and gelato from the frozen pop-up. Treat yourself to cocktails, wine and prosecco, and keep your eyes peeled for events throughout the summer like Italian food markets, exhibitions and film festival screenings.

Rankin: The Unseen

Until Wednesday 29th June, British photographer Rankin is exhibiting his latest project at the new Quantus Gallery in Spitalfields, London’s first digital gallery. Rankin has shot some of the UK’s most famous faces, including Kate Moss, Madonna, David Bowie, Hugh Grant and Cate Blanchett. His latest exhibition showcases hundreds of creatives, campaigners and small businesses that have been censored and silenced on social media platforms. Expect digital art submitted through an open call, plus 13 portraits by Rankin of people in the ‘unseen community’ including LGBTQ+ advocates and women from the body positive movement.

Six by Nico

Six by Nico changes its menu every six weeks at all its locations across the country. Now, diners can tuck into a six-course ‘Miami to Ibiza’ menu with dishes inspired by the two iconic destinations. Highlights include the ‘Es Vedra’ featuring seabass, grapes, samphire, celery and smoked potato; the ‘Churrasco’ – rump steak with smoked emulsions, onions and chimichurri; and the ‘Little Havana’ dessert featuring a coconut and rum parfait with pineapple, passion fruit mousse and a brandy snap.
