After Impressionism: Inventing Modern Art at The National Gallery
The National Gallery opens an exhibition on the post-impressionist movement on Saturday 25th March. Featuring art created between 1880 and 1914 – a pivotal time in history leading up to the First World War – the exhibition celebrates three giants of the era: Paul Cézanne, Vincent van Gogh and Paul Gauguin. It also explores the influences they had on younger generations of French artists and wider names across Europe. You’ll also find over 100 works by artists including Klimt, Kokoschka, Matisse, Picasso Mondrian and Kandinsky. Tickets start from £24.

Park Lane where exec chef Elliott Grover will be recreating the menu he cooked for guests at the 95th Academy Awards. Boujis in South Kensington was a celeb hotspot in the early noughties – somewhere the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Prince Harry and Rihanna where papped multiple times over the years. Now, the team behind Mahiki and Raffles have reopened the venue with a new look and name – B Club. It has cool street art-inspired interiors with Andy Warhol and Basquiat prints, as well as a concrete DJ booth where big-name artists and local DJs spin vinyl on the decks. There’s also a speakeasy-style bar on the other side of the club with leather seats and a Cuban-inspired cocktail menu.

Art After Dark
Berlin and Paris already have a late-night art programme to get visitors into the cities’ best galleries at night and finally, the initiative has landed in London, meaning some of the capital’s best galleries and museums will keep their doors until 9pm for a two-day event. On Thursday 23rd March, independent galleries including Cristea Roberts, 3812 Gallery and Stern Pissarro will be open late, followed by the Royal Academy of Arts and the National Gallery on Friday 24th March. Highlights include the ‘Nalini Malani’ exhibition at the National Gallery and the ‘Image of the Artist’ portrait collection at the RA. There will also be illuminated immersive art installations across Piccadilly Circus, St James’s Market and St James’s Churchyard – so keep an eye out for those.

George x Christie's Auction
Christie’s has partnered with George in Mayfair for an online auction to sell some of the club’s artwork for charity. Bidders can choose from a selection of art from the Mayfair members’ club to help raise funds for The Caring Family Foundation, which supports child poverty around the world. The collection includes 71 pieces of art, including Tracy Emin’s blue and white neon ‘I’m a Rare Bear’; the original Dachshund linocut designed for George by Hugo Guinness, which became the Club’s logo; a selection of prints and exhibition posters by David Hockney; ski and travel posters by Emil Cardinaux; photographs by Slim Aarons; and drawings by Ernest Howard Shepard, the illustrator of Winnie the Pooh. Bidding ends on Tuesday 28th March.
