Beckman has just opened a free exhibition at The Pilgrm hotel in Paddington. Drawn to the underground hip-hop scene, she moved to New York in 1983 and photographed the likes of Run DMC, Slick Rick, Salt-N-Pepa, LL Cool J and other iconic artists.
