GET READY FOR WIMBLEDON: Cinch Championships At Queen’s Club

The 2022 Cinch Championships takes place at Queen’s Club this weekend – and there’s still time to get tickets. Part of the ATP Tour, the tournament starts just before Wimbledon with the sport’s top male tennis players taking to the courts. Until Sunday 19th June, visitors can watch the likes of Matteo Berrettini, Grigor Dimitrov, Stan Wawrinka and Carlos Alcaraz – plus British players Jamie Murray and Dan Evans in the doubles draw. Make sure to stop by the bar to sample Nyetimber’s English sparkling wine and Pimm’s. Tickets start from £20.

DINE AL FRESCO: Bermondsey Larder

Bermondsey Larder has opened a 40-seat terrace with a new menu. Expect dishes like lobster beignet, whole Dover sole and salt marsh lamb, all of which are cooked outside on the grill. Finish with a dessert like Campari sorbet or strawberry Eton mess, and treat yourself to drinks during aperitivo hour from 5-7pm on Wednesdays to Sundays – cocktails come with crisps and crab mayo. On Saturday nights throughout the summer, expect ‘ska sessions’ featuring ska, reggae and funk music.

SHOP NEW-SEASON CLOTHING: Reformation, Covent Garden

Reformation has just opened its flagship store in Covent Garden. TRY GREAT NOODLES: Koya & Ko Chef Udon Series

On Friday 17th June, Japanese noodle bar Koya & Ko kicks off its first kitchen takeover at its Hackney site, featuring some of London’s best chefs. Each chef will create a special udon noodle dish (available for two weeks) to showcase cuisines from around the world. First up, it’s Max Rocha (of Cafe Cecilia fame) who will create a tea-stained egg breakfast udon bowl. Later in the series, expect dishes from Benjamin Chapman (Smoking Goat), Florence Knight (Sessions Arts Club) and Owen Barratt (Monty’s Deli), to name a few.

ENJOY ROSÉ IN THE SUN: Amie Wine Studio 

Regular SL readers will know we love Amie’s rosé, so we were excited to hear the brand has opened a pop-up in Eccleston Yards. Until Sunday 10th July, visitors can enjoy a few glasses on the terrace, stock up on bottles, and attend small exhibitions and events, including a nibbles and wine evening with vegan chef Sophie Gordon.

TRY A NEW WORKOUT: Balance Festival

The UK’s biggest wellness event, Balance Festival, returns to The Truman Brewery on Brick Lane from Friday 17th to Sunday 19th June. Over the weekend there’ll be 200 classes to pick from, including sound baths, yoga, spinning and meditation, plus stalls from more than 150 vendors selling protein shakes, kombucha, vegan ice-cream and non-alcoholic drinks. You can also attend talks by industry professionals and drop into sessions led by Barrecore, Barry’s Bootcamp, Boom Cycle, F45 and Kobox. Tickets start from £24.

PARTY ON THE ROOF: The Standard

The Standard hotel in King’s Cross has launched a summer rooftop series to showcase DJs, collectives and performers in the capital. ‘Sunday High’ sessions are inspired by Notting Hill’s carnival scene, with ten weeks of music from Club Yeke, Foundation FM, Heels & Souls and Prestige Pak. On Sunday night, order drinks from the rooftop bar then tune into music from reggae, hip hop and R&B DJs and artists. Tickets are free.

TRY NEW FLAVOURS: Delli Pop-Up At Coal Drops Yard

New food app Delli (created by former Depop founder Simon Beckerman) is hosting a pop-up at Coal Drops Yard in King’s Cross from Friday 17th to Sunday 19th June. Much like Depop, Delli employs a ‘drop’ model, which sees exclusive produce from food makers across the UK featured on the app for a limited time. The idea is it will grow into a platform where up-and-coming cooks and producers can sell their wares and grow their customer base. On Friday, Cha Dong will be serving its signature Hong Kong-style tea and on Saturday, you can enjoy sweet treats by Lil Wong Bakes. Don’t forget to download the Delli app to be in with a chance to win an exclusive hamper.

CELEBRATE PRIDE MONTH: Rooftop Film Club

Rooftop Film Club is showing a range of LGBTQ+ films to celebrate Pride month. Over the next two weeks, Bussey Building in Peckham and Roof East in Stratford will screen films like the Elton John biopic Rocketman, coming-of-age comedy Booksmart, and musical Hedwig and the Angry Inch. Food is served before the screening starts, and you can buy drinks and snacks to be delivered to your deckchair during the film.

SEE A NEW EXHIBITION: Fancy a Bite? At Studio West

Studio West in Notting Hill has opened a group exhibition of female artists. Coinciding with Kensington & Chelsea Art Week 2022, the theme is ‘nourish’ which celebrates food in all its forms. Exhibiting artists include Nell Mitchell, known for her bold prints, painters Phoebe Boddy and Pippa El-Kadhi Brown, and sculptors Rafaela de Ascanio and Alice Johnson. Expect to see paintings, installations and ceramic sculptures – and look out for Alice’s prawn sculptures.
