The Other Art Fair By Saatchi Art
The Other Art Fair hosted by Saatchi Art takes place today until Sunday 16th October at the Truman Brewery on Brick Lane. Visitors can see guest exhibitions and immersive installations, tune into live poetry readings, listen to DJ sets and buy artwork from over 150 emerging artists, with prices starting from just £100. Highlights include exhibitions by Evelyn Morgan – who creates contemporary, colourful collages – Amy Gardner, Assia Bennani and Liz Whiteman Smith. We’re most excited to see what guest artist Sara Shakeel has in store – her Swarovski crystal embellished works have helped her amassed more than 1m followers on Instagram. This weekend, Shakeel will present new original works, and a huge spider-inspired installation for Halloween – plus, a collection of her famous pieces will be available to buy for the first time. Battersea Power Station
On Friday 14th October, Battersea Power Station will unveil the next stage of its multibillion-pound development, which includes more than 100 shops, restaurants and bars and a pedestrianised high street. There’s also Control Room B – a cool bar in one of the station’s old control rooms – and a cinema. To celebrate the opening, the venue is hosting a ‘Festival of Power’ this weekend and next, with family friendly activities, a light trail and live music. Don’t miss the duelling spectacle on Friday 14th October from 7pm when two ‘lords’ will fire multi-million-volt bolts at each other in the six-acre Power Station Park. As if that wasn’t enough, Where the Pancakes Are will be offering £1 pancakes all day.

The Woman King
A timely release in light of Black History Month, The Woman King is the remarkable story of the Agojie, the all-female unit of warriors who protected the African Kingdom of Dahomey in the 1800s with skills and a fierceness unlike anything the world has ever seen. Inspired by true events, the film follows the epic journey of General Nanisca (Viola Davis) as she readies the next generation of recruits for battle against an enemy determined to destroy their way of life. The cast also includes John Boyega (Star Wars, Small Axe) and Lashana Lynch (No Time To Die, Ear for Eye).

Frieze London
Frieze London is an art fair featuring 280 of the world’s leading galleries. Visitors can view and buy art from more than 1,000 artists, while enjoying the fair’s critically acclaimed curated sections and talks programme. Highlights include an outdoor sculpture exhibition in Regent’s Park featuring 19 large-scale works by artists like John Giorno, Ro Robertson and Ugo Rondinone; a guided tour of the main exhibition space with a focus on established artists and big-name galleries; and an exhibition by Louise Giovanelli at White Cube Bermondsey. Don’t miss the restaurant pop-up by Soho restaurant Rita’s, which will serve a selection of its signature dishes inspired by North and South American cuisines. Tickets start from £16.

London Cocktail Week
London Cocktail Week celebrates some of the capital’s best bars. From today until Sunday 23rd October, the 11-day festival plays host to cocktail tours, masterclasses and special menus at over 300 London bars. New this year, there are four Little Cocktail Villages in Belgravia, Borough Yards, Covent Garden and Spitalfields, where you can enjoy pop-up bars, live music and cocktails for £7. Elsewhere, highlights include a pop-up from Alquimico at Lyaness at Sea Container’s hotel (Thursday 13th & Friday 14th); a ‘Club Tropicalifornication’ pop-up at London Bridge’s Nine Lives (Friday 14th); and a Grey Goose martini dinner at the Cadogan Arms in Chelsea (Thursday 20th). Wristbands cost £15 and will get you £7 drinks across the venues.

We like the sound of the ‘Regenerator’ facial which incorporates triple-weight hyaluronic acid and peptides 3+8 to encourage collagen production and improve firmness. Crosta & Mollica Pop-Up
Italian food brand Crosta & Mollica is opening a pop-up restaurant to raise money for Emergency UK, a charity that provides free healthcare to victims of war and poverty around the world. On Friday 14th October and Saturday 15th October from 7pm to 9.30pm, diners can enjoy a five-course meal which includes aperitivo snacks; an antipasti spread featuring cured meats, cheeses and whipped ricotta bruschetta; tagliatelle alla puttanesca; a selection of sourdough pizzas; and tartufi for dessert (a frozen ice-cream truffle). This will be served alongside Gioiosa prosecco and paired Italian red and white wines (non-alcoholic options are available). The best part? Tickets cost just £10 – with all profits going to the charity – and guests will receive a Crosta & Mollica goodie bag worth over £35, including some of the brand’s exclusive Christmas products.

Now, the brand has opened its first shop and showroom on Vyner Street in Bethnal Green. Each piece is beautifully made and designed to be passed down through generations, from café curtains to simple tablecloths.
