CELEBRATE INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY: Carousel x The Female Chef
Between now and Saturday 12th March, three female chefs will take to the kitchen at Carousel in Fitzrovia to celebrate International Women’s Day. Tonight, diners can enjoy a five-course tasting menu of classic Italian food from Angela Hartnett, followed by Julie Lin of Julie’s Kopitiam in Glasgow on Friday night, and Romy Gill on Saturday, who’ll be serving a Bengal-meets-the-West-Country dinner. Tickets cost £65pp, with a portion of proceeds going to number of women’s charities.

GO TO THE OPERA: Così Fan Tutte At London Coliseum
English National Opera’s Così fan tutte opens at the London Coliseum tonight. On until Tuesday 22nd March, the opera tells the story of a bet between young men Ferrando and Guglielmo, and the philosopher Don Alfonso, who reckons he can devise a plan that will prove both of their fiancées are unfaithful. The story about disguise, deceit and desire plays out in a world where the line between make-believe and reality is blurred. Featuring Mozart’s brilliant score, which includes some of his most famous music, audience members will be transported to 1950s Coney Island for a dramatic showdown in ENO’s new take on this classic.

DISCOVER SUSTAINABLE BEAUTY: Circla Beauty Pop-Up
Today until Saturday 12th March, sustainable beauty platform Circla is hosting a pop-up on Portobello Road to showcase a range of eco-friendly brands. Shoppers can browse skin, hair and body essentials from brands like Bramley, Evolve, Tabitha Eve, Willow and No Ordinary. SUPPORT A GOOD CAUSE: Museum of the Home Auction & Yard Sale
On Saturday 12th March from 10am-4pm, the Museum of the Home (formerly the Geffrye Museum) is hosting a yard sale to raise funds for charity London Homeless Collective, which supports homeless women in the capital. Expect to find homeware and furniture from a range of designers including Matilda Goad, Frances Loom, Mouki Mou, East London Cloth, Rooms of Clapton, Plain English, The Garnered and Maya Njie. You can also book workshops and talks throughout the day, including a textile damage and repair workshop with Celia Pym, and a botanical hand-painted card making class with Scribble & Daub. If you can’t make it this weekend, you can also donate via the online auction to win some seriously good prizes – think holidays to Tulum, dinner at Spring, a cooking lesson with Skye McAlpine and lunch at The River Café. CBD brand Puresport has launched a fitness club with free events every Thursday night. They take place at top gyms across the capital – partner studios include Core Collective, Rowbots and One LDN. This week, Bad Boys Pizza society is teaming up with Mob Kitchen’s Seema Pankhania to celebrate International Women’s Day. Today until Saturday 12th March, the Courtyard at Vinegar Yard will host the ‘Bad Girls Pizza Society’ for a special ‘lamb birria’ pizza – a take on the classic Mexican dish featuring lime, coriander and tomato salsa topped with lamb hot birria sauce. All the profits will be donated to Refuge, a charity that supports women and children who have suffered through domestic violence.

VISIT THIS COOL EXHIBITION: The Curl Talk Project, Granary Square
This new exhibition at Granary Square’s outdoor gallery opened on International Women’s Day. The Curl Talk Project explores what it means to have curly hair today. Questioning beauty standards that reinforce Western beauty ideals, the exhibition shares stories from 30 women from a diverse range of ethnicities and backgrounds who felt pressured to straighten their hair but are now embracing their natural curls. The exhibition is on until Sunday 10th April.

The Barbary Next Door in Covent Garden launches a north African breakfast menu today. With seriously chic interiors – inspired by Moroccan courtyards with a long counter, lime-washed walls and cosy seating – the small restaurant and wine bar will serve small sharing plates loaded with ingredients and spices from Spain and north Africa. Expect dishes like sfenj (a light donut topped with sugar and honey); ras el hanout and pumpkin bread served with pumpkin and sunflower seed clotted cream; homemade date granola with yoghurt, blueberries, tahini and honey; and classic Moroccan tortillas. Add on a glass of freshly squeezed blood orange juice or a breakfast cocktail.
