GET YOUR CULTURE FIX: Gavin Mitchell Exhibition At Nobu Portman Square

Hotel Nobu Portman Square has opened an exhibition with artist Gavin Mitchell. ‘Floating World: East Meets West’ pays homage to Ukiyo-e, a type of Japanese art which began in the 17th century and translates as ‘pictures of the floating world’. The images and prints are inspired by iconic images from Japanese and Western culture, including geishas and cherry blossom. To celebrate the exhibition, the hotel has created a new Japanese-inspired afternoon tea (from £60pp) featuring dishes like yellowtail and vegetable yuzu truffles, shrimp salad rolls with jalapeño sauce, and wasabi beef tataki served on shokupan sando (traditional Japanese milk bread). The exhibition runs until May.
