Norfolk-based homeware brand Birdie Fortescue is hosting a pop-up on the King’s Road until Sunday 16th October. Over the next ten days, shoppers can browse the brand’s AW22 collection of lighting, rugs, art and woven rattan furniture – as well as exclusive in-store products. Each part of the pop-up has been styled to look like various rooms in the home, including a bedroom, living area and dining room – we love the brand’s block-printed cushions and tablescaping sets. You can ask the Birdie Fortescue team interior questions, get styling tips for your home, and enjoy croissants and cocktails while you shop.

House of Notoire’s The Feel Good Fair at Peckham Levels
House of Notoire is a collective that connects creative women around the world through events where guests can meet new people and discover small female-owned brands. On Saturday 8th October from 12pm to 6pm, it’s hosting a ‘Feel Good Fair’ at Peckham Levels where guests can enjoy everything from massages and astrology readings to panel talks and live music. You can also shop independent labels and tuck into street food and drinks from pop-up stalls. General admission is free, otherwise £10 tickets include access to the workshops and the panel talk, and £14 tickets include brunch and a welcome drink.

Rosanna Falconer x St-Germain Tablescaping Masterclass at The Londoner
Fashion consultant and tablescaping pro Rosanna Falconer is teaming up with French elderflower liqueur brand St-Germain to host a masterclass at The Londoner hotel on Tuesday 11th October at 6pm – and tickets are currently on sale. The event will take place at the hotel’s new restaurant Whitcomb’s, where guests will learn how to host a special soirée at home and create a beautiful tablescape. During the event, you can enjoy French-inspired canapes with a classic St-Germain spritz. The best part? Tickets cost £20 and 100% of proceeds will be donated to The Drinks Trust – an organisation which provides care and support to those in the drinks industry.

Ruckus at Southwark Playhouse
Southwark Playhouse champions under-represented voices and gives them a platform on the stage. Its latest production, Ruckus, is a one-woman play written by and starring actor Jenna Fincken. It’s a thriller about abusive relationships, particularly coercive control which kills up to three women in the UK every week. Through a visceral sound design and backdrop, each moment of the play has been inspired by real women and real stories. A heavy, but important watch. Tickets cost £24.

BFI London Film Festival
The BFI London Film Festival celebrates the most innovative new films from across the world. Visitors can discover Oscar winners of the future, new talent and beautifully restored treasures from the archives. Every screening is hand-picked by a trusted team of programmers, and all features are being shown in the UK for the first – and sometimes only – time. Hundreds of leading directors, writers and actors will also take to the stage to introduce their films and take part in audience Q&As. Head down to the social hub at BFI Southbank for free events or discover films at the pop-up Embankment Garden Cinema. This year’s headline films include Sam Mendes’s Empire of Light starring Olivia Colman and Micheal Ward, Living featuring Billy Nighy, and the Hitchcockian noir thriller Decision to Leave.

BOOK AHEAD FOR A WORTHY CAUSE:
The Big Sing for Cancer
One in two people in the UK will develop some form of cancer during their lifetime. With cases on the rise, it’s even more important to help where we can. On Tuesday 11th October from 7pm, The Big Sing for Cancer will take place at St Luke’s & Christ Church in Chelsea – a chance to raise funds for lifechanging charities. Friends of SL Jenny Plant and Victoria Hall-Hulme grew up together and were diagnosed with breast cancer and bowel cancer respectively, aged 32, just six months apart. Sadly, Victoria died in September after a heroic battle aged just 33. On the night, Gareth Malone will lead a singalong and all proceeds from the event will go to The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity and Breast Cancer Now. Tickets cost £25.

Jazz in the Cellars at Brunswick House
Jackson and Frank Boxer’s Vauxhall restaurant Brunswick House has relaunched its weekly jazz night series for a limited run – and tickets are now available. On Tuesday nights until the end of November, guests can head into the venue’s cellar for live jazz music, headed up by Mark Kavuma & The Banger Factory, who recently played Ronnie Scott’s. Expect bar service with beer and cocktails, and a weekly changing wine menu. Enjoy dinner upstairs in the main dining room pre or post-show, or book the new basement Vaults space as a private dining room. It’s walk-ins only, with the first gig at 7pm and the second at 8.30pm.

Tosca at London Coliseum
The English National Opera kicks off its autumn season with a new production of Tosca. A great choice for first timers, this production is a stylish take on Puccini’s riveting tale of danger, passion and murder. Set in Rome during the Napoleonic wars, the action takes place over the course of 24 hours and follows three main characters: Floria Tosca, her lover Mario Cavaradossi and the corrupt police chief, Baron Scarpia. Scarpia has lusted after Tosca for many months, but the handsome Cavaradossi stands in his way. When he suspects Cavaradossi of assisting an escaped political prisoner, he seizes his opportunity to plot his downfall.

David Bailey: Vision and Sound at 45 Park Lane Hotel
David Bailey has a new solo exhibition at 45 Park Lane Hotel. Widely regarded as one of the 20th century’s most important photographers, he rose to the top by taking candid shots of pop culture icons. Visitors can see portraits of legendary musicians which trace key moments from jazz and early rock ’n’ roll to punk, Britpop and hip hop over the past six decades, including Kate Bush, Grace Jones, Bob Marley and David Bowie. Look out for the shots of rapper and producer Dr Dre.

Fiorucci Pop-Up
Italian brand Fiorucci has opened two pop-ups in Shoreditch. On Saturday 8th October, shoppers can head to Shoreditch High Street from 3-6pm to take advantage of complimentary customisation by London-based textile designer and hand-embroiderer Rebeckah from Embellished Talk – you can add your own embroidery and patches to any purchase in store, from jeans to hoodies. There will also be a DJ set and exhibition of archive Fiorucci pieces, including a pair of jeans hand-painted by Keith Haring and a jacket custom made for Madonna. Over at the Redchurch Street site, there’s a cool installation inspired by Fiorucci’s angels, and more of the brand’s signature designs to browse.
