GET YOUR CULTURE FIX: Inspiring Walt Disney Exhibition At The Wallace Collection
The Wallace Collection has opened a new exhibition paying homage to Walt Disney’s work. In collaboration with New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art, the exhibition explores how Disney found inspiration from French 18th-century art for his illustrations in films like Cinderella, Beauty and the Beast, and Sleeping Beauty. Disney had a personal fascination with European art and loved grand design, like rich French tapestries and porcelain to Boulle clocks (which inspired Cogsworth in Beauty and the Beast). This new exhibition features original sketches and drawings used in some of his most iconic films.
