BOOK AHEAD FOR THIS: 9-5 The Musical 

In January 2019, a new production of the musical celebrating all things Dolly Parton will be clocking into the West End, with a limited season at the Savoy Theatre. Starring Louise Redknapp, Love Island’s Amber Davies and seasoned West Enders Natalie McQueen and Brian Conley, smash-hit show 9 to 5 The Musical features an original Oscar- Grammy- and Tony Award-nominated score by country legend and pop icon Parton herself. Tickets are on sale now for next year – just what we need to get over the winter blues.

GET AMPLE INTERIOR INSPO HERE: The Affordable Art Fair 

The Affordable Art Fair returns to Battersea Park from 18th-21st October, presenting thousands of original works priced from £100, to give people who don’t have the bank balance of a millionaire the chance to own art. For the first time this year, the fair is introducing The Print Village, a new addition made up of a set of shipping containers which aims to immerse visitors in the world of print. Situated in front of the entrance, the space will feature a range of activities including ‘Pressing Matters’, a collaboration with Print Club London, one-on-one workshops, ‘meet-the-maker’ sessions and the opportunity to buy original works from up-and-coming artists.

DINE WITH A WORLD-CLASS CHEF HERE: 45 Park Lane 

For three nights only, one of South America’s most celebrated chefs will be cooking in London for the very first time with an exclusive pop-up at contemporary Mayfair hotel 45 Park Lane. Francis Mallmann (who you might recognise from Chef’s Table) will join exec chef David McIntyre to bring his bold Argentinian flavours to Wolfgang Puck’s CUT at 45 Park Lane. Best known for reinventing the art of cooking over fire, Mallmann will serve up a selection of his signature dishes, such as smashed crusty Andean potato with smoked butter and caviar; plancha avocado with salmon confit; and slow-roasted rubia gallega rib-eye on the bone; followed by the intriguing-sounding ‘desserts from the river plate’.

MAKE LIKE GWYNETH HERE: Goop pop-up 

This month, Gwyneth Paltrow’s Goop will open its first London-based pop-up store, as the company expands into the European e-commerce market. The opening marks exactly ten years to the day since Gwyneth sent the first Goop e-newsletter from her kitchen table in north-west London. Comprised of four floors, the California-inspired store is a minimalist’s dream: think white walls, potted plants and pastel hues. Customers will be able to purchase clothing, jewellery, books on health and wellbeing written by Paltrow, homewares, health and beauty products, and Goop's own organic skincare range.

EAT LIKE THE FRENCH HERE: Henrietta Hotel 

On 9th October, Henrietta Bistro’s head chef Sylvain Roucayrol is teaming up with lauded Michelin-starred chef Pierre-Louis Marin to celebrate the cuisine of south-west France. For Roucayrol’s and Marin’s debut supper club, there’ll be three top-notch courses on offer, with an indulgent line up of ingredients such as lobster, pan-fried foie gras, monkfish fillet and eggplant caviar. Accompanying cocktails and wine pairings will be also served throughout the evening, all for the price of £50pp.

PRETEND YOU’RE IN CUBA HERE: Last Nights of Havana 

This October, Meanwhile Events (the team behind incredibly popular pop-up Skylight) will bring the distinctive tastes, sounds and spirit of pre-revolution Cuba to the Tobacco Dock with the launch of Last Nights Of Havana – a celebration of rum, jazz, dance and decadence. Inspired by the famously opulent playground that was 1940s and 50s pre-revolution Havana, the re-imagined Quayside Bar at Tobacco Dock will evoke a time when rum cocktails, cigars, Cadillacs and unbridled glamour were the order of the day. Pass us a ‘Cuba Libre’.

CELEBRATE THE SEASON HERE: London Shell Co 

This October, floating restaurant London Shell Co will launch its Sea Harvest feasting voyages. These post-summer banquets, running every Tuesday to Friday until the end of November, will see London Shell Co transformed into a coastal hideaway inspired by Cornwall, as it chugs down Regents Canal at twilight. Poems will be recited as diners feast on the sea’s bounty around a shared feasting table, and live music will feature heavily. The best ingredients available from the South West will be served banquet style, alongside a drinks list with a special focus on British ciders.

RELIVE PULP FICTION HERE: Tarantism 

Fest Camden has teamed up with Impossible Things Entertainment to launch a new show that fuses circus, cabaret and live music with interactive and alternative fun. Tarantism is an immersive Quentin Tarantino cabaret, with classic soundtracks and iconic scenes acted out from Pulp Fiction, Reservoir Dogs and Kill Bill. A feast for all the senses, the show includes a fire fan act, angle grinding and eye-popping burlesque. Themed food will be available to purchase, and guests are encouraged to dress in character and get fully involved with scenes: take your pick from Mia Wallace, Vincent Vega or Mr Blonde.

ATTEND AN OFF-GRIB CULTURE CLUB HERE: The Lost Lectures 

The Lost Lectures has announced the first wave of speakers for ‘The Electrograph’, a series of unique events that aim to spark minds and bring imagination to life. Opening the doors to a disused power plant, the collective will host an off-grid culture club that hosts talks and performances from the likes of Vicky Grout, Dr. Robin Carhart-Harris, Grace Savage, The Secret Barrister, Anna Ginsburg, Kamal Ahmed and many more. Blurring the lines between fantasy and reality, each evening will host four different speakers and musical performances across an eclectic range of topics, set within an interactive environment. With no two nights the same, topics will range from the sublime to the ridiculous.

GET ARTY HERE: Bazaar Art Week 

Fashion magazine Harper’s Bazaar is set to launch Bazaar Art Week, a new series of events that will celebrate the achievements and talents of women in the art world. The week-long event will take place at multiple locations across central London from 1st-7th October, and will connect readers with trailblazers from the art world, including museum directors, artists, curators, gallerists, collectors and entrepreneurs. Events include an evening view and curator's tour of Atelier E.B's new exhibition 'Passer-by' at the Serpentine Sackler Gallery; a ‘How to invest in art’ discussion at 34 Mayfair; and ‘An introduction to the Soho House Art Collection’ with Kate Bryan, who will host a panel of female artists, including Susan Hiller, Annie Kevans and Sarah Maple, all of whom have contributed pieces across the houses.
