Kaanjj Pop-Up
Online store Kaanjj is a curated collection of emerging and established South Asian designers. On Friday, it opens its first pop-up on the King’s Road. Shoppers can browse clothing and accessories from 25 South Asian designers and sustainable brands – a great chance to pick up unique items you won’t find elsewhere. Confirmed brands include Studio Rigu, Happi Space, Anatina and Energy Studios. Visitors can also meet some of the designers and drop by for free styling sessions.

Royal Opera House
Royal Opera House has announced its autumn programme, with tickets starting from just £9. This weekend, visitors can see Das Rheingold. As the story of this opera goes, when a precious hoard of gold is stolen from the river Rhine, it unleashes a chain of destructive events, pitting gods and mortals against one another for generations. Other productions in the coming weeks include the ballet The Limit by Sam Steiner (Lemons Lemons Lemons Lemons Lemons) (20th-28th Oct), and The Dante Project (18th Nov-2nd Dec), both of which will be performed by The Royal Ballet.

Peckham Festival
From Friday 15th to Sunday 17th September, venues across Peckham will host a free programme of events showcasing the neighbourhood’s creativity. Visitors can enjoy everything from clay workshops to Pilates, take the kids to skateboarding lessons, watch live music on the main stage, and book movies at Peckham’s Rooftop Film Club – films include Barbie, Notting Hill, The Parent Trap and Peckham’s very own Rye Lane. Stop for street food and drinks at the pop-up stalls before visiting one of the many exhibitions.

Christie's Lates: Picasso: A 50-Year Legacy
Christie’s Lates returns this evening with a series of events to celebrate the life and work of Pablo Picasso. 2023 marks the 50th anniversary of his death, and tonight, guests can take part in workshops, listen to talks, and watch performances – all inspired by one of history’s greatest visionaries. Visit the main exhibition before watching a ceramics demonstration from artist Dee Barnes. You can also watch a live glass painting installation, and visit various books and art pop-up stalls. Finish the evening with a Sipsmith cocktail in the West Room. Tickets are free.

London Design Festival
London Design Festival celebrates the city as the design capital of the world. This month, it returns to venues and institutions across town. Must-see events include a talk by One Hundred Shoreditch hotel designer Jacu Strauss, hosted by Vinterior’s Lucy Ward (19th Sep); styling workshops and private shopping with brand OKA (21st Sep); and various design presentations at Liberty (16th-21st September). Don’t miss the talk on art collecting with expert David Henty at Chelsea Design District (21st Sep). Tickets are free, otherwise talks start from £5.

Wondering People Exhibition
London-based art collective Wondering People has opened a group photography exhibition at The Nunnery Gallery in Bow. ‘On Reflection’ showcases works by Wondering People’s portfolio of artists, including abstract photographer Hannah Ackroyd, architectural photographer Owen Davies, and award-winning Thom Corbishley. The exhibition has a deliberately broad theme – each artist has submitted six to ten photographs they believe best embody the concept of reflection. Tickets are free.

PAY HOMAGE TO VIVIENNE WESTWOOD:
House of Punk Pop-Up
Fashion legend Vivienne Westwood passed away late last year and the subsequent AW23 runways were filled with punk-inspired motifs, fabrics and silhouettes – from Alaïa’s pin embellishments and Saint Laurent’s tartan coats to Diesel’s ripped denim. To celebrate Westwood’s cultural impact, the House of Punk style studio has opened its doors in King’s Cross. Fashion stylist Karen Clarkson, who worked with Westwood, has taken pieces from various brands’ AW23 collections to curate a series of womenswear, menswear and genderfluid looks. Expect to see pieces from BA&SH, A.P.C., American Vintage, & Other Stories, Beyond Retro and more.

Thanks to a sell-out collaboration with Sézane, Brazil’s FARM Rio has cemented its status as one of the coolest brands of the year – and the SL fashion team are big fans. The label continues its ascent this month with a full takeover at Liberty. Over the next couple of weeks, the Atrium will be home to a 12m tree (celebrating Brazil's rich biodiversity and FARM Rio’s charitable efforts), and there will be eight new windows with the brand’s signature prints. British potter Izzy Letty opens an exhibition at Studio Pottery London on Eccleston Place this week. Visitors can enjoy Izzy’s oversized ceramics that explore scale and form – look out for the ancient Chinese bowls. On Thursday 21st September, Izzy will also host a pottery demonstration at the studio, where you can watch her create new designs before sitting down to a discussion about her career and getting into the creative industry. The Beauty Triangle Wellness at Chewton Glen
Chewton Glen in the New Forest is partnering with The Beauty Triangle to host its inaugural wellness festival on Friday 22nd September. The one-day event will immerse guests in the world of holistic health and wellbeing. There will be talks on everything from skincare and women’s health to building self-esteem. Guests can also take part in yoga classes beside the lake, sound healing sessions in the gardens, and a mindful coastal walk across to sandy Highcliffe Beach.
