This week, Rick Stein returns to The Goring hotel – this time with his sons Jack and Charlie – for a pop-up celebrating Cornish produce. Rick and his team will serve his signature seafood dishes which guests can enjoy in the hotel’s beautiful garden. Diners can enjoy a three-course lunch or dinner featuring dishes like whole dover sole with noisette butter; turbot with hollandaise sauce; seabass ceviche with red chilli, tomatoes, and avocado; and crispy smoked mackerel with green mango salad. This weekend, guests can also watch Jack and Charlie in a cooking demo and attend a meet and greet book signing with Rick – you can buy yours on the day or bring your favouruite Stein cookbook with you. The pop-up will run until Sunday 20th June.

LEARN ABOUT THE LGBTQ+ COMMUNITY: Pleasure And Prudence: A Queer Vauxhall Treasure Hunt
Take a trip through the streets of Vauxhall on a digital treasure hunt and uncover the secrets of its queer and hedonistic past. Created by the Museum of London and Breadcrumbs Games, it’s a great way to learn about the LGBTQ+ community and celebrate Pride Month. Starting at the underground station and ending at the iconic Vauxhall Tavern, you’ll discover the history of Voho, London’s oldest ‘gaybourhood’, solving clues along the way to discover hidden gems of history. Narrated by the fabulous Lady Lambeth, you’ll get the inside scoop on lesbians abseiling into parliament and what connects Princess Diana, Freddie Mercury and the country’s most iconic drag bar. The trail takes around three hours to complete and passes a few pubs along the way, so you can stop for a drink while solving each clue. Tickets cost £10 per player.

It’s no secret that we’re big fans of The Newt in Somerset, so we were very excited when they announced their latest venture – The Great Garden Escape. Ideal if you want to head to the country for the day, the journey starts with a first-class train journey to Castle Carey where you’ll be given breakfast freshly prepared by The Newt’s head chef, Alan Stewart. From there, you’ll be guided through the impressive estate and gardens, before enjoying lunch in the Garden Café – be sure to ask for a glass (or two) of Babylonstoren rosé from the hotel’s sister property in South Africa. Guests will also visit the hotel’s immersive Story of Gardening exhibition centre and be guided through a cider tour and tasting session. TREAT YOURSELF: Pierre Marcolini Citrus Garden Ice-Cream Pop-Up
Luxury chocolatier Pierre Marcolini is bringing a taste of Europe to London with a new ice-cream pop-up stall at his Marylebone store and Selfridges and Harrods counters. Customers can select an ice-cream flavour – such as dulche de leche, coconut, vanilla or dark chocolate – which will then be dipped in chocolate and topped with cracked roasted hazelnuts, almonds or pistachios. If you prefer sorbet, you can also choose from mango and raspberry flavours, too. Be sure to stock up on Marcolini’s signature ice-cream tubs (which contain a simple mix of milk, sugar and cream), with flavours like citrus pistachio, vanilla and caramel, hazelnut praline, rose, and chocolate. We can’t think of a better treat to enjoy after hitting the shops.

The crown of RuPaul's Drag Race UK may have gone to Lawrence Chaney, but Tayce was a standout queen (and one of our favourites) to emerge from the series. On Saturday 19th June, John Lewis is hosting an all-day virtual beauty festival where guests can hear from some of the top names in the business. With six masterclasses spread over the day, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. The festival kicks off with a 45-minute dance class by 1SCULPT Studio and Sweaty Betty, followed by a summer skincare masterclass from Elemis and make-up artist Cher Webb. The team behind ULI in Notting Hill has just opened HUŎ in Chelsea. Championing fresh and healthy Asian food, the menu features Chinese and southeast Asian dishes made with traditional techniques, like triple-cooked dover sole, stir-fried beef fillet with spicy black pepper sauce, wok-fried kam heong prawns, and spicy soft-shell crab salad.
