BOOK A TABLE HERE: AT Feast, St John’s Wood

AT Feast in St John’s Wood opened last week. The all-day dining brasserie and cookery school is a great place to catch up with friends for a weekend brunch or dinner. With a cool zero waste ethos, everything is made with sustainability in mind, but the dishes are still packed full of flavour. Diners can choose from dishes like broccoli margarita flatbreads with tomato sauce; kale, pea and ricotta fritters; meatless shepherd’s pie with garlic root mash; and quinoa coated chicken. Here, the desserts are the star of the show – think banoffee pie, bread and butter pudding with custard, and salted caramel pots. There’s also an extensive wine and cocktail menu to choose from, too – we recommend the kombucha margaritas.

READ THIS DEBUT NOVEL: Fault Lines By Emily Itami

Emily Itami’s hotly anticipated debut novel came out last week. Mizuki is a Japanese housewife who has a hardworking husband, two adorable children and a beautiful Tokyo apartment. It's everything a woman could want, yet sometimes she wonders whether it would be more fun to throw herself off the high-rise balcony than spend another evening not talking to her husband or hanging up laundry. Then, one rainy night, she meets Kiyoshi, a successful restaurateur. In him, she rediscovers freedom, friendship, a voice, and the electric pulse of the city she has always loved. But the further she falls into their relationship, the clearer it becomes that she is living two lives – and in the end, she can choose only one…
