EAT A JUDGEMENT-FREE SUPPER HERE: Not Plant Based x Social Pantry

Social Pantry is teaming up with the girls behind non-BS food blog Not Plant Based to create a “delicious and honest” social supper club. Social Pantry Founder Alex Head and Not Plant Based's Eve Simmons will take the lead with a delicious supper, organised to help remove stigmas around disordered eating, opening the gateway to removing fears around food and honouring your physical and mental wellbeing.

GET ARTY HERE: London Design Festival

London Design Festival celebrates and promotes London as the design capital of the world. This month, the festival returns to venues and institutions across the city. Key must-see events include ‘Please Feed The Lions’, an interactive sculpture in Trafalgar Square by artist and designer Es Devlin, who is known for her innovative projection-mapped sculptures that fuse light, music and technology; and Scholten & Baijings’ ‘Time For Tea’, a daily interactive tea ritual held on the first floor of Fortnum & Mason.

GO CRAYFISH CRAZY HERE: Aquavit

On 13th September, Aquavit will host its annual Kräftpremiär (crayfish party), al fresco in St James's Market, with diners seated on two long communal tables. Guests will be served a feast of limitless crayfish, alongside Västerbotten cheese tarts, dill mayonnaise, and chips. All this will be washed down with a selection of aquavits from O.P. Anderson. Traditional decorations, hats, bibs and a song booklet will adorn the tables – we predict an Instagram sensation.

GET FIT FOR A GOOD CAUSE HERE: Barry’s Bootcamp

International fitness phenomenon Barry’s Bootcamp is hosting a one-off HIIT class for 180 guests atop Sky Garden to raise money for the Alzheimer’s Society. For one night only, the sky-high venue will be transformed into a Barry’s ‘studio’ with red lighting, loud music and a high-energy workout specially adapted for the evening and hosted by a expert Barry’s trainers. After the class, there’ll be an assortment of food and drink available from the likes of Ahi Poke.

LEARN A NEW SKILL HERE: Carousel London

As well as being one of Marylebone’s foremost foodie destinations, Carousel London plays host to a rotating line-up of art exhibitions, video installations, film screenings, spoken word poetry, live acoustic sets, theatre workshops and yoga brunches. This month, expect a wildlife drawing class on the 10th, meditation with Gail Love Schock on the 17th, a terrarium workshop on the 22nd, wine tasting on the 28th and a pasta-making masterclass on the 29th.

GET INVOLVED IN A DECADENT DINNER HERE: The Vaults

Following successful immersive productions of Alice Underground and The Twits, The Vaults has turned its attention to the story of Dionysus, the ancient Greek god of pleasure and mischief, for its newest theatrical dining experience. Divine Proportions is set to be a reimagining of the Bacchic rites: an indulgent night of eating, drinking and wild dancing. Guests will indulge in a five-course banquet in Heaven before descending into ‘The Underworld’ for a party that the devil himself would be proud of.

CELEBRATE THIS TOP RESTO’S 10TH BIRTHDAY HERE: Murano

Angela Hartnett’s Michelin-starred Murano will celebrate its tenth birthday this autumn. And to mark the occasion, the restaurant will be serving a limited-edition birthday menu, comprising some of Hartnett and the team’s favourite dishes from the past decade. On 11th September, renowned chefs Mark Hix and Mitch Tonks will be joining Angela in the kitchen. Their restaurants Hix and The Seahorse are also marking ten-year milestones, so the evening will toast all three, with a special menu of five courses for £75pp.

CHILL OUT HERE: Wanderlust 108 Festival

On 15th September, worldwide yoga lifestyle festival Wanderlust 108 will fill Battersea Park with 4,000 yogis for a day of workshops and meditation. A new ‘Uncommons’ schedule will offer a wide choice of activities including acro-yoga, aerial yoga, guided meditation, sound healing, yoga boards, hula-hooping, slacklining, art sessions, topical talks, essential oil workshops and more. Highlights include classes with YouTube sensation Adriene Mishler, aka Yoga With Adriene, a talk from wellness and nutrition expert Jasmin Hemsley and music from Goldie.

PRETEND YOU’RE IN ITALY HERE: S.Pelegrino Vendemmia Banquet

One for oenophiles, Italian wines takes centre stage at this stylish banquet hosted by S.Pellegrino, celebrating one of the most important dates in the Italian calendar – vendemmia (the harvest). Expect candelabras, carafes and earthy, autumnal dishes at this celebration of communal consumption. Experienced voices in the wine world will be on hand to educate you on Italy’s vast vineyards and terroirs with tastings beforehand, all in the chic surroundings of Dynamic Vines.

Skye Gyngell has launched her first Food Writers Festival at her Somerset House restaurant, Spring. Rotunda at Four Seasons Hotel London at Ten Trinity Square has recently unveiled its new Heritage Afternoon Tea. Served under the beautiful domed ceiling of the Rotunda, the tea is inspired by the building’s rich history and connection to the tea route. Expect all the classic trimmings: homemade scones with jam and clotted cream, a selection of French patisseries and elaborate finger sandwiches. We’d finish ours off with a flute of Charles Heidsieck Blanc des Millenaires 1995 Brut champagne.
