There are plenty of exciting TV shows and films to see you through the festive season. With a variety of new releases across Netflix, Now, Disney+ and Apple TV+, here’s what to add to your December watch list.

Your Christmas or Mine?, Prime Video

Students Hayley and James are young and in love. My Unorthodox Life – Series 2, Netflix

Lady Chatterley’s Lover, Netflix

Pinocchio, Netflix

Who Killed Santa?, Netflix

Murder in Successville’s senior detective Terry Seattle (Will Arnett) is back, and this time the case is critical. Along with his two celebrity guest stars, Jason Bateman and Maya Rudolph, he’s on a mission to figure out who killed Santa. But here’s the catch: Bateman and Rudolph aren't being given the script. They have no idea what’s about to happen to them. Together with Terry (and many surprises), they will have to improvise their way through the case... but it will be up to both of them to name the killer.

Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery, Netflix

In the follow-up to Rian Johnson's Knives Out, Detective Benoit Blanc (Daniel Craig) travels to Greece to peel back the layers of a mystery involving a new cast of colourful suspects. Tech billionaire Miles Bron invites his friends for a getaway on his private Greek island. Then someone turns up dead. Treason, Netflix

Trained and groomed by MI6, Adam Lawrence’s career seems set. The Unofficial Science of Home Alone, Now

Comedians James Acaster, Guz Khan and Alex Brooker have all been obsessed with the classic 1990 comedy Home Alone since they were kids. But there’s one big burning question that all Home Alone fans need answering: would Harry and Marv survive those traps in real life? Guz and James will be stepping into the shoes of the Wet Bandits and will be assisted by an engineer as they build their own versions of some of the most memorable boobytraps from the film such as ‘The Blowtorch to the Head’ and ‘The Swinging Paint Can’. They’ll find out what damage they would do in real life, figure out how science can help them survive the traps, then use what they’ve learned to take on the stunts themselves as they attempt to catch their very own Kevin McAllister.

White Noise, Netflix

Based on the novel by Don DeLillo, White Noise stars Oscar nominees Adam Driver, Greta Gerwig and Don Cheadle. A Noah Baumbach film, it will land on Netflix on 30th December. At once hilarious and horrifying, White Noise dramatises a contemporary American family's attempts to deal with the mundane conflicts of everyday life while grappling with the universal mysteries of love, death and the possibility of happiness in an uncertain world.

Emancipation, Apple TV+

Apple’s big Christmas release is Emancipation – directed by Antoine Fuqua (Training Day, The Equalizer) and starring Will Smith (King Richard, Ali). It tells the triumphant story of Peter, a man who escapes from slavery, relying on his wits, unwavering faith and deep love for his family to evade cold-blooded hunters and the unforgiving swamps of Louisiana on his quest for freedom. The film is inspired by the 1863 photos of ‘Whipped Peter’, taken during a Union Army medical examination, that first appeared in Harper’s Weekly. One image, known as ‘The Scourged Back’, ultimately contributed to growing public opposition to slavery. The film will premiere globally on 9th December.
