THE CLUB SUITE EXPLAINED...
British Airways' newest offering – Club Suite seat as part of the Club World experience – offers more space and privacy than ever before. Whether you're a frequent business flyer or are planning an extra-special trip, British Airways Club Suite makes long-distance travel all the more indulgent. Here's why it's worth the splurge.
Before you travel…
With all the benefits of Club World, customers can have their baggage collected from their doorstep, securely transported to the airport, and checked-in, allowing you to head straight to security on arrival at Heathrow. There’s a charge for this service, but it’s worth it for the added ease. Plus the generous baggage allowance means you can take more with you for your trip – helpful if you’ve hit the shops. Customers can also bring both a cabin bag and a laptop bag on board – ideal if you've got work to do – as well as putting up to two bags in the hold.
At the airport…
Getting through the airport is a much smoother experience, thanks to dedicated check-in desks and fast-track security. Once through, you can head to one of British Airways’ exclusive departure lounges, where there’s plenty of space to take time out before flying. Stylish and spacious, the lounges provide excellent food and drink, plus a range of business facilities to make working on the move easier than ever.
The highlights…
- My Lyan – the world-famous mixologist behind London bar Lyaness – has partnered with British Airways in all its Club Lounges. Here, guests can sip on cocktails designed by Mr Lyan especially for the airline. We love the sound of The Barton (Tanqueray gin, elderflower cordial, dandelion and burdock bitters, soda and rosemary), which is named after the first female British Airways pilot, Lynn Barton, while The Lawford (Seedlip Garden, elderflower cordial, tonic water and mint) is in honour of Bill Lawford, who flew the world’s first scheduled international service in 1919.
- There are plenty of new additions to British Airways’ lounges, which all support the airline’s aim of achieving net-zero carbon emissions by 2050. There’s a new plant-based menu made with market-leading meat substitutes in dishes such as meatless meatballs and katsu curry. And there are new Brita water taps so all customers can refill as they need.
Once at the gate, you’ll have access to priority boarding.
Once onboard…
Every aspect of British Airways' Club Suite has been designed for modern travellers. With more space than ever before, Club Suite features direct aisle-access seats, a door for extra privacy and luxurious, large flat-bed seats in a 1-2-1 configuration. Each suite includes lots of handy storage, a vanity unit and mirror, wi-fi, 18.5in entertainment screens offering the latest hit films and music, and power sockets for keeping all your devices charged and ready to go the moment you leave the plane.
What’s more, there are new menus on all flights from Heathrow – and British Airways have just reintroduced its full brasserie-style service. This includes individually served starters, main courses and desserts. With its new ‘British Original’ menu, customers can enjoy ploughman’s boards with coastal blue and Shropshire cheddar cheese, Loch Fyne smoked salmon and a traditional English breakfast, all complemented by an award-winning selection of wine carefully chosen by British Airways' own Master of Wine. You can also enjoy champagne, signature cocktails and mocktails, plus options from partners such as Aviation gin – Ryan Reynolds’s gin brand.
As part of the Club World offering, British Airways offers amenity kits by The White Company, so you’ll get a great night’s sleep. A super soft pillow, day blanket and a specially developed duvet will improve quality of sleep, while its new padded mattress topper provides an extra layer of comfort. The amenity kit comes in a White Company bag and contains products from the retailer’s Restore & Relax Spa Collection, as well as a jersey eye-mask, offering a further touch of luxury.
Once you’ve landed…
Travellers will be ready to enjoy their final destination. On arrival into London Heathrow, stop by the arrivals lounge to freshen up and prepare for the day ahead – ideal if you’re straight off to work or meeting friends.
Alternatively…
World Traveller Plus is British Airways’ premium economy offering. A worthwhile upgrade, it’s much roomier thanks to wider seats to and more space to relax in comfort. But it’s more than just the extra legroom, it’s the extra headspace, too. The cabin comes with fewer rows, resulting in a space that’s quieter, more spacious and more exclusive than World Traveller.
In World Traveller Plus, you can enjoy a drink shortly after take-off and a starter, main and dessert on the flight, alongside a choice of snacks and hot and cold drinks delivered to their seat. Guests will also have access to a complimentary bar service including signature cocktails and mocktails. A personal entertainment system comes with a huge library of films (including recent releases you might not have seen at the cinema), new and classic TV shows, music and noise-cancelling headphones. Each customer also gets a stylish amenity kit, a bigger baggage allowance than World Traveller, and access to dedicated check-in desks and priority boarding.
British Airways Club Suite is now available on flights from London Heathrow to over ten destinations in the USA including New York, Miami, Chicago, LA, Seattle, Phoenix, Austin, Denver, San Diego and Las Vegas.
