The Summer Pop-Ups You Need To Know About
Paradise Pods at Coppa Club
The igloos that adorned the spacious terrace outside Coppa Club last winter may have melted away, but this spring the Paradise Pods have popped up in their place. Themed around Tulum in Mexico, the new booths are decorated with bold colours, palm leaves and lots of cacti, and all offer great views over the Thames and the City. These sold out super quick last year, so make sure you snap up tickets now.

Spritz & Giggles
Aperol fans, listen up. The Italian spirit has launched a pop-up bar in Broadgate Circle until early August. The beach bar-inspired venue will serve up a combination of refreshing cocktails (including an Aperol Spritz, of course), entertainment and sport screenings. Bright and filled with quirky touches, the venue offers table tennis and foosball tables, as well as outdoor seating, bean bags and deck chairs.

Backyard Cinema
This year Backyard Cinema at Mercato Metropolitano has undergone a space-themed transformation. Named Mission to Mars, the event offers guests the chance to jump aboard its spacecraft cinema and lie back on beanbags with a selection of extra-terrestrial cocktails. Most films being shown throughout the season have a sci-fi edge – expect the likes of Armageddon, E.T., Men in Black and Ready Player One. Keep an eye out for its weekend Galactic Flow Yoga and Space Raves, in partnership with Ministry does Fitness.

Fulham Beach Club
From the team that brought us Neverland in 2017 comes new concept Fulham Beach Club. The clue’s in the name – this particular pop-up celebrates everything that’s great about the seafront, from cabanas and beach huts through to frozen piña coladas. Food will come from Jimmy Garcia's BBQ Club pop-up restaurant, while two bars, live DJs and a programme of activities ranging from putting-pong and yoga to shuffleboard and table tennis will keep guests entertained.

Pergola on the Roof
After a whopping 179,000 people passed through its doors last year, it’s no surprise that Pergola on the Roof has popped up for another season atop the Television Centre. With room for 850 guests over two floors, the party space includes food from Patty & Bun, DF Mexico, French spot Canard and Vietnamese barbecue joint MAM, and plenty of cocktail bars. We’ve got our eye on one of the comfy day beds.

Food and drink will come from the likes of Smokey Tails, Crust Bros and Cheeky Burger, and the venue is planning to erect one of the capital’s largest World Cup screens.

Returning for a fourth year, Stratford’s Roof East has had a circus-style makeover. And this year there really is something for everyone, from hip-hop bowling (De La Bowl) to vinyasa flow yoga, mini golf (Birdies), film screenings (Rooftop Film Club) and baseball in a batting cage (Sluggers). Various cocktail bars will span low-cal kombucha coolers to flaming cocktails juggled between clowns, and food will come from Jimmy Garcia’s BBQ Club pop-up.
