THE TASTING SESSION:

Lola Brandelli Canapé Supper Club

Food stylist and chef Lola Brandelli is hosting a Mother’s Day canapé supper club at St Peter De Beauvoir church in Dalston. Guests can try 12 dishes cooked by the chef, including smoked salmon on rye bread with pickled cucumber, vegetable tartlets, aubergine club sandwiches, and miso and sesame sausage rolls. Sweet courses include orange and hazelnut bundt, coffee and walnut cake, and rhubarb and custard choux buns. Guests can choose to pair the meal with tea (English breakfast, earl grey or peppermint) or champagne. Tickets start from £42.50pp.

THE BEGINNER’S WORKSHOP:

Liberty x Wild at Heart Floristry Masterclass

London-based Wild at Heart is hosting a floristry masterclass for beginners at Liberty’s Heritage Suite. Ideal for those who want to know the basics of flower arranging, guests will learn how to pair flower types, create hand bouquets and care for cut flowers at home. Attendees don’t need any previous experience and all materials will be included. Tickets cost £120pp which includes a glass of vintage English sparkling wine.

THE PAMPERING BRUNCH:

The Stratford Hotel

The Stratford hotel has partnered with Shoreditch Nails and Neal’s Yard Remedies to lay on a day of pampering. Guests will be welcomed into the hotel’s cocktail bar for a hand and arm massage by Neal’s Yard Remedies, before having a manicure or quick shape and paint by the Shoreditch Nails team. After pampering, guests can order brunch dishes at Kitchen E20, before relaxing in The Lounge with live jazz music. Tickets cost £50pp.

THE FASHION EVENT:

Live Illustrator Afternoon Tea at The Beaumont Hotel

The Beaumont Hotel will host a series of afternoon teas with live illustration in its art-deco Gatsby’s Room. On Sunday 19th March, artist and illustrator Jason Brooks will talk about his career working with some of the world’s biggest fashion brands, including British Vogue, Chanel, Tiffany & Co and Lancôme. Brooks will then draw an illustration of each guest. On Thursday 30th March, fashion illustrator and journalist Gladys Perint Palmer will talk about her work with the likes of Alexander McQueen and Anna Wintour. She will be interviewed by fashion illustration gallery curator Connie Gray. Both events include afternoon tea with the choice to add champagne.

The Chelsea Pig

For something more relaxed, The Chelsea Pig will serve a one-off sharing dish of roasted leg of lamb with mint salsa verde and all the trimmings, including crispy roast potatoes, buttered carrots, savoy cabbage and Yorkshire puddings. Just a short walk from the King’s Road, the pub has a great dessert menu featuring dishes like treacle tart with clotted cream, carrot cake crème brûlée, and marmalade bread pudding with cinnamon ice-cream.

THE DRIED FLOWER WORKSHOP:

The Flower Factory LDN

The Flower Factory LDN is hosting a dried flower workshop at the Montcalm Royal London House hotel. During the 90-minute workshop, attendees will learn to make a hand-tied bouquet using a range of dried flowers. They will also learn how to dry flowers at home. All materials are included, and attendees can take their flowers away with them. Tickets start from £60pp and include refreshments.

THE SPECIAL TRAIN RIDE:

British Pullman’s Afternoon Tea

Step back in time on Mother’s Day and travel on a Belmond British Pullman train through the scenic British countryside. Departing from Victoria station, the train will pass through Greater London and into the Weald of Kent, before returning later in the afternoon. Aboard the train, mums can enjoy half a bottle of Veuve Clicquot champagne with a spread of small savoury plates, cakes and scones. Guests will also be served coffee, tea and petit fours before the train returns to London. Tickets cost £400pp.

THE BOTANICAL CASTING WORKSHOP:

Native Bankside

Treat mum to a botanical casting workshop at Native’s Bankside studio. Guests will learn how to cast a botanical piece of art using a selection of objects and dried flowers. The course will cover how to work with clay, create your own designs, mix pigment and pour eco resin. No previous experience is required, but attendees are encouraged to bring along materials they’d like to incorporate into their design.

THE AFTERNOON TEA:

The Petersham

The Petersham in Covent Garden will serve a special afternoon tea in its floral courtyard, comprising a selection of sweet and savoury dishes with herbal teas and a bellini (£55pp). The menu includes sandwiches filled with crab, crème fraîche and dill; chicken and mayo; cream cheese, cucumber and lemon; mushrooms and parmigiano; and courgettes with mint and chilli. Diners can also enjoy scones with clotted cream and homemade jam, plus patisserie treats like pistachio and strawberry brûlée, tiramisu tart, and rhubarb financier.
