Supper clubs are having a moment – but you’ve got to be quick if you want a spot at the table as the best events tend to sell out quickly. From special nights at new openings to six-person dinners at a chef’s home, here are seven in London to book now…

Felix Reade & Nominoe Guillebot x Oranj

Chef Felix Reade and sommelier Nominoe Guillebot will take over the kitchen at natural wine shop and restaurant Oranj for two weeks this month. The two have created a menu inspired by their mutual love of French food and time spent together in Marseille. Expect a selection of small plates like tomato with peach and basil, yellowtail carpaccio with raspberry and harissa, fried panisse with sardines, smoked aubergine with anchovies and burnt apricot, and sheep yoghurt ice-cream with orange blossom syrup. Dishes will be paired with wines from the south of France. Tickets start from £30.

For Intimate Dining:

Barang Street Kitchen

If you like the idea of meeting new people in someone else’s home, chef Tom Geoffrey of Barang Street Kitchen hosts intimate supper clubs at his flat in Forest Hill. Inspired by his travels across Cambodia, meals revolve around south-east Asian flavours. Expect dishes like crispy fried chicken wings with sticky tamarind, pork and lemongrass BBQ skewers, chargrilled mackerel in banana leaf, Cambodian green curry, and kaffir lime and coconut panna cotta. There are two sittings each night, and the table has space for just six guests. Just remember to BYOB. Tickets cost £55.

For Entertainment As You Eat:

Bourne & Hollingsworth in Clerkenwell recently gained chef Matthew Harris (of Bibendum fame). To celebrate, the team has created a monthly dinner series to showcase the best produce of the season. Guests can expect an immersive dining experience where they’ll meet like-minded guests. You can also expect live entertainment from a choir and harpist. The menu will remain under wraps until each night, but expect to eat seasonal produce like Scottish girolles, white peaches, blackberries and apricots.

For A Sri Lankan Feast:

Karapincha Supper Club

Karapincha is the Sri Lankan kitchen with sites in Vauxhall and Spitalfields and a post at Mercato Metropolitano – with a fourth set to open in Canary Wharf. The team will host a 20-dish ‘Onam Festival’ at Old Spitalfields Market, where guests can try a range of vegetarian dishes, all served thaali-style on banana leaves. Diners can enjoy a selection of curries (varying in spice level), with rice, erissery (made with pumpkin, cow peas and coconut), sambals, chutneys and dips. Tickets are £40 and include a cocktail on arrival.

For Michelin-Level Dining:

Cycene x Kurisu

Shoreditch restaurant Cycene won its first Michelin star earlier this year. This month Chris Restrepo of Kurisu Omakase fame will collaborate with Cycene’s head chef Theo Clench to create a 12-course seafood-led menu. Dinner will start at the ground-floor bar, where guests will be served sushi dishes inspired by Restrepo’s Thai-Colombian heritage. Afterwards, head upstairs to the Cycene kitchen for more dishes served omakase style. Tickets cost £250.

For English Sparklers:

Cinnamon Kitchen x Hattingley Valley

The team at Hampshire winery Hattingley Valley will head to Vivek Singh’s Indian restaurant Cinnamon Kitchen City for a one-off supper club to mark the restaurant’s 15th anniversary and 10 years of award-winning Hattingley wines. The five-course dinner will include dishes like smoked paneer tikka with a spiced pineapple and coriander chutney, grilled aubergine and tamarind glazed grilled pork ribs, and lemon and cardamom posset. All dishes will be paired with Hattingley wines, including a sparkling rosé and the new Blanc de Blancs 2015. Tickets cost £95.

For Italian Flavours:

These Days Aperitivo Bar x Stuffed

These Days recently opened an aperitivo bar in the middle of Bermondsey Beer Mile, serving spritzes, classic aperitifs and bar snacks. Next week, it will team up with Netil Market's Stuffed for an Italian-themed dining experience. Diners will sit around one long table for a family style sharing feast paired with These Days spritzes made with fruit and organic white wine. Dishes will include burrata with grilled peach and blood orange, veggie ’nduja and caciocavallo arancini balls with basil aioli, fresh pasta with almond pesto, and tiramisu for dessert. Tickets cost £45pp.
