9 Luxe Takeaways To Order While You Can

With government advice suggesting that restaurants can reopen from 4th July, now’s your chance to order a high-end takeaway from some of the UK’s best restaurants while you can. From oven-ready meal boxes courtesy of Great British Menu champ Tommy Banks, to picnic hampers from Ollie Dabbous and Richard Corrigan, these are the ones to try.

The Black Swan

We were envious of Yorkshire locals when Great British Menu winner Tommy Banks first started selling his high-end meal boxes to those living near The Black Swan at Oldstead and Roots in York. Now, he’s gone nationwide. Featuring produce grown both on and around the Banks’ farm and from the restaurant’s local suppliers, there are two options are available – the Made in Oldstead Food Box (£75) and the Celebration Box (£120), both delivered to the door and ready for the oven. Menus change weekly, but expect the likes of smoked ham hock terrine served with gherkin ketchup; glazed spring lamb shoulder and maris bard potatoes, grown 100-yards from Tommy’s house; and elderflower drizzle cake with cream cheese icing. Delivered each Friday and available for pre-order from the previous Saturday, the Made in Oldstead Food Box includes two different menus, each containing a three-course meal for two. These sell out every week, so get in quick.
