5 Ways To Celebrate Galentine’s Day
First coined in 2010 on US TV show Parks and Recreation, Galentine’s Day is now a bona fide concept across the world, with Pinterest searches increasing by a whopping 1780% year-on-year. So why not join in on this fun, feminist celebration? Here’s how to share the love with your BFFs…
1. Galentine’s Afternoon Tea
Head down to London’s Hotel Cafe Royal for a seriously decedent treat. Running from 12th-18th February, the Valentine’s Diptyque Afternoon Tea is technically for Valentine’s Day – but with a menu inspired by the delicate, floral scent of roses, a glass of Laurent-Perrier rosé champagne and a Diptyque Rose candle to take home with you afterwards, it has ‘girls’ day out’ written all over it.
2. Pizza & Pink Champagne
Fancy an evening in? What better way to spend the 13th than inviting your nearest and dearest over for a night of pizza and pink champagne. Recreate those old-school sleepover vibes by making a playlist of retro films (here’s our favourites if you need some inspo), hanging out in your PJs and playing the adult version of Dream Phone – aka convincing your mate to let you have a go on their Tinder.
3. Sending Flowers & Cards
Who says you need a significant other to send you cards and flowers? Plenty of stationary brands have got in on the Galentine’s action this year (we love Paperchase’s ‘Fave Babe’ range), while flower delivery sites like Interflora and Bloom & Wild have created special Galentine’s bouquets and competitions.
4. ‘Single Ladies’ Night Out
No Valentine’s Day plans, no problem. Save your celebrations for 14th February and head to XOYO in Shoreditch for The Yoncé Valentine's Day Experience. The club will be playing the best of Beyoncé all night long – so gather the girls and get your dance on.
5. The Ultimate Spa Day
