10 Of This Season’s Coolest Supper Clubs & Residencies

Whether you fancy trying a new cuisine or want to get friends together for a one-off meal without the washing up, supper clubs and restaurant residencies are the way to do it. Here are ten top pop-up dinners taking place in London this summer…

10 Heddon Street

Chris Leach – formerly of Kitty Fisher’s, Pitt Cue and Petersham Nurseries – and Smokestak’s David Carter have launched a restaurant residency at 10 Heddon Street. Focusing on hand-made pasta and in-house charcuterie, the self-titled restaurant’s menu will change daily, beginning with focaccia and a selection of house-made salumi, including mortadella, coppa di testa and fennel salami. To follow, there will be a rotating line-up of smaller dishes including gazpacho, Cornish crab, fried ciccioli with apple ketchup, pea and summer vegetable ragu with scamorza and toasted spelt, and grilled peach salad with smoked almond and ricotta salata. Most excitingly, a section of the menu is dedicated to hand-rolled egg pasta – highlights include rigatoni with pumpkin seed pesto and anchovy, garganelli with spicy pig tail ragu, tonnarelli with brown crab cacio e pepe and sheep’s milk ricotta ravioli served with Calabrian chilli oil, local honey and poppy seeds. We can’t wait to give it a try.

Jamavar Women’s Club

Following the success of last year, Mayfair’s Jamavar is holding its ‘Women’s Club’ events at the restaurant this summer. This year the team will host individual evenings with BAFTA award-winning author and presenter Kirsty Wark, who has presented Newsnight for over 25 years, Bollywood actress Sonam Kapoor and gold medal Paralympian swimmer Liz Johnson. Started by Jamavar’s founder Samyukta Nair, the idea is to gather together inspirational women from an array of backgrounds to celebrate their talents, share stories, ideas and advice, as an antidote to the traditional ‘boy’s clubs’ of Mayfair. The ticketed event will see guests listening to a Q&A with the speaker, followed by a three course bespoke dinner designed by executive chef Surender Mohan. Trust us, the food is delicious.

The Waterhouse Project

The Water House Project began in 2015 when Gabriel Waterhouse left Michelin-starred Galvin La Chapelle with the aim of making fine dining accessible. What began as a 14-seat supper club from his Bethnal Green home has now grown – The Waterhouse Project sees Gabriel and his team serve an eight-course monthly changing tasting menu inspired by the best of local produce sourced from the British Isles.
