12 Beauty Hacks To Help You Speed Up Your Morning
1. Use Highlighter To Enhance Everything
Mix a liquid highlighter into foundation, moisturiser, body cream or your balm for a pretty glow on cheekbones, shins, arms, brows – wherever. Make-up artists say it’s a great way of enhancing your make-up (and limbs) at a pinch.

2. Invest In A Balm
Foundation gone patchy? Skin feeling dry? Brows need taming fast? Look no further than a thick, rich balm, which is also perfect for massage, travelling, mixing with moisturiser and generally helping to solve all your beauty needs.

3. Get Clever With Your Concealer
Use your concealer to cover up dark circles and redness, but also to highlight your T-zone. It’s a trick recommended by make-up artist Patrick Ta when time is at a premium. Grab a colour that’s a few shades lighter than your complexion and blend it across the centre of your forehead, down the bridge of your nose, and onto your chin with a dampened Beautyblender. It takes seconds and is really effective.

4. Apply Dry Shampoo The Night Before
Hair stylist and expert Kristin Ess advises using your dry shampoo (from roots to ends) before you go to bed and sleeping with your hair in a bun for lasting volume and texture the next day. Sleeping with it spritzed in also helps soak up any oils that appear overnight – the tossing and turning on your pillow helps to distribute the product evenly throughout the hair for a cool, lived-in-finish, like a day-at-the-beach hair.

5. Utilise Your Beauty Sleep
More and more brands are launching overnight tanning masks. The benefit? You wake up with a subtle, believable glow that means you won’t have to put as much make-up on in the morning when you’re rushing out the door. The latest formulas also contain just the right amount of tanning agent, DHA, so you never have to worry about waking up orange.

6. Spritz A Little Water On To Hair
We’ve been recommended this tip by several stylists – spritz your hair with a little water if you’ve previously used styling products (think balms, mists and salt sprays) the day before. It works to reactivate yesterday’s product so you don’t have to pile on more (which can weigh down your hair). Scrunch your strands as you spray for extra texture.

7. Try This Eye Trick
Make-up maestro Mary Greenwell recommends filling in the gaps between lashes – it’s the easiest (and fastest) way to give the impression of fullness. How? Gently pull up your lid and trace along the water line with a slanted brush dipped in gel or kohl.

8. Boost Your Hair’s Volume Fast
For speedy sleekness, stylist Jen Atkin recommends brushing your hair forward as you dry it (over your shoulders) with a paddle brush. This works to create tension and volume at the roots as your brush dries the hair straight.

9. Play With Skincare As Replacement Make-Up
If you want to try the glossy lid trend, but are in a rush and don’t want sticky balms attaching to your hair, reach for your skincare. Take a hydrating serum and apply a few layers to your lids. It’ll leave you with a naturally glossy, hydrated effect in seconds. Plus, the formula is likely to last longer than make-up which often creases and smudges after a few hours.

10. Create Your Easiest Smokey Eye Ever
No time to create a smokey eye? Try dabbing a cotton bud into your moisturiser, then use it to smudge black kohl (or any colour liner) along your lash line. Not only will this encourage a natural ‘slide’, it will also give you a worn-in eye that’s effortlessly cool for both day and night.
