Afro Vegan Cookbook

Afro Vegan is a new cookbook drawing inspiration from the explosive colours and flavours of West Africa. First-time author Zoe Alakija has tapped into her British-Nigerian heritage to create over 50 eclectic fusion recipes, including jollof arancini, cassava gnocchi, plantain brownies and hibiscus and coconut ice-cream. Styling and photographing all the recipes in the book herself, you won’t be able to resist the urge to replicate some of Zoe’s dishes at home.

Wheyhey Ice Cream

This sugar-free ice cream brand has expanded its offerings to now include Brownies & Cream. Not only is it high in protein and fibre, it’s also low in sugar and calories (in fact, there’s only 80 calories per serving). Consider it your new guilt-free treat.

FARE Food Boxes

This new food box business has just launched with six options – including Breakfast FARE, Deli FARE and Fisherman’s FARE – with the aim of providing support for producers within the agricultural supply chain through the FARE Fund. Co-founder Joe Corneille explains: “The food being produced here needs to be celebrated and that’s exactly what we’re doing with FARE, along with supporting and giving back to the industry. Getting behind our farmers and producers will always be at the very heart of what we do.”

Nikkitas

Nikkitas has been farming and producing exceptional olive oil, honey and olives for five generations. Their olive oil includes three varieties of polyphenol-rich olives in equal proportion – koroneiki, athinolia and koutsourolia – while the honey variations include thyme, pine and flowers & conifers – plus, there are dark purple, glossy Kalamata black olives to enjoy.

Hunter & Gather Dressings

The team behind this range of ‘clean’ condiments (including 100% avocado oil mayo and unsweetened ketchup) has launched a new duo of 100% olive oil all-natural dressings. Hunter & Gather 100% Olive Oil Herby Greek Dressing and Hunter & Gather 100% Olive Oil Creamy Lemon Ranch Dressing are both made from a carefully crafted blend of olive oil, lemon juice, herbs and vinegar, resulting in dressings that are delicious yet free-from added sugar, grains, seeds oils and chemical preservatives. The best part is, this makes them suitable for paleo, keto, low carb, gluten-free and dairy-free lifestyles.

Folc English Rosé

Founded crafted by award-winning Kentish winemakers, Folc is a sustainably focused, naturally vegan English rosé created from a unique blend of seven different grape varieties. All sourced from family-run vineyards in Kent and East Sussex, the grapes comprise of pinot noir, pinot meunier, chardonnay and bacchus, among others.

Mon Dessert Home-Making Kits

Mille Feuille (translated to mean ‘a thousand layers’) is delicately crisp dessert which now you can make at home. Slightly more technical than other kits in Mon Dessert’s offering, the Mille Feuille is the perfect way to put your pastry-chef skills to the test. Pre-weighed ingredients, handy tools and videoed instructions will help you create a showstopper, though, topped with that distinctive chevron icing.

Umami Gin

If you’re looking to spice up your gin repertoire, try Umami Gin. The base flavour comes from hand-picked Sicilian capers, which are distilled under vacuum at 45°C and combined with an infusion of glutamate-rich parmesan cheese. The liquid is then combined with bergamot and juniper distillates before the blend is left to rest in an old cognac barrel for several months, giving it a unique, fresh and lightly savoury quality.

Notorious Nooch Co

Notorious Nooch Co. has launched the UK’s first ever, naturally flavoured nutritional yeast. Cheesy Immature and Smoky Bacon were both created by toasting yeast flakes to bring out their natural intensity, and contain fewer than five (all natural) ingredients. Flexible and versatile, the flakes can be sprinkled onto practically anything to add extra cheesy flavour – from pizzas and pastas, to greens and popcorn.

Pretzel Pete

To say Pretzel Pete’s range of snacks are moreish would be an understatement. Pennsylvania-born Karl Brown fell in love with pretzels while living in Germany – so much so that when he returned to America, he quit his job in the corporate world to focus on recreating his favourite crunchy snack. Gently soaked in unique flavours and slow baked in small batches, the snacks are GMO free, contain zero artificial flavours, colour, preservatives and saturated or trans fats.

Savor Wines 

After months of cooking at home and discovering new dishes as consolation for cancelled trips and holidays, female co-founders Natasha Patel and Sophie Svoboda decided to create vegan wine brand Savor. After more than 80 tastings, Savor now offers local recipes and curated music playlists to accompany each of their wines, which can be accessed via the QR code on the bottle.

Lixir Mixers

Founded by friends Jordan Palmer & Matt Mahatme, Lixir mixers offer eight fresh tonic flavours, each of which contain less sugar, fewer calories, absolutely nothing artificial and reduced amounts of quinine to make the taste more balanced. From Rhubarb & Ginger to Elderflower & Lemon, as well as more traditional flavours including Ginger Ale and Classic Indian Tonic Water, each one can be enjoyed with a range of spirits or on their own.

Veganizza’s pizzas

These vegan bake-at-home pizzas can be delivered anywhere in the UK via next day delivery. This year’s blend from The Cotswolds Distillery uses its award-winning gin as a base, which is then blended with a splash of handcrafted oloroso and pedro ximenez sherries and finished with select herbal and spice essences. The result is a distinctively rich and fruity mix, with a complex bittersweet finish. Top it up with lemonade or ginger ale, and garnish with fresh fruit, cucumber and mint.
