THE BIG BEAUTY LAUNCH:
Tatcha
A decade of working in corporate America left Tatcha founder Vicky Tsai disillusioned and suffering from acute dermatitis that required daily steroids and antibiotics. A Taiwanese-American, she unexpectedly found herself in Kyoto, where she encountered a culture of wellbeing that healed her skin. Alongside a team of scientists, geisha and cultural advisors, she created Tatcha in 2009 – and now the cult brand is available to buy in the UK. Each formula blends superfoods, amino acids and AHAs called Hadasei-3 – a proprietary complex of twice-fermented rice, green tea and algae. Available from Space NK, the hero products to get your hands on include The Water Cream and The Dewy Skin Mist.

THE ALBUM:
Dance Fever by Florence & The Machine
Dance Fever is the long-awaited fifth studio album by Florence & The Machine. Set to be released on 13th May, flame-haired Florence Welch and co have already released singles ‘King’, ‘Heaven Is Here’, ‘My Love’ and ‘Free’. Florence herself has described the album as “a fairy tale in 14 songs” and the album’s campaign images already show off this mystical aesthetic. Want to see them live? There are a handful of tickets left for their November 2022 tour.
THE NIGHTWEAR:
VCH Style X If Only If
British brand If Only If’s new launch is just as pretty as expected. The brand has teamed up with VCH Style – founded by sustainable fashion advocate Ginnie Chadwyck-Healey – to create a considered capsule collection of three nightdresses. Carefully designed to be cross-generational and size-inclusive (it ranges from a UK 6-24), expect to find the brand’s signature delicate detailing like smocking and embroidery across all the pieces. The edit also uses certified organic poplin and cambric cotton, as well as non-toxic dyes.

THE FRAGRANCE:
Malbrum
Founded in Oslo, Malbrum focuses on fragrance quality, with each scent crafted from ingredients based on the emotion they stimulate and their longevity on the skin. Among the ones that have just landed in Liberty’s beauty hall, we love Bagheera, a sueded leather blend enhanced by black flowers, berries and powdery iris; and Tigre Du Bengale, which has notes of balsamic rock rose and myrrh.

THE HOLIDAY HOME:
Old House & Fowler’s House
The Wild Rabbit has just launched its first large, self-catered houses in Kingham. Two beautiful houses, rather than cottages, have been renovated by Carole Bamford and are ideal for multi-generational family escapes or holidays with groups of friends. The interiors are a combination of pieces sourced from around the world, antique furniture reupholstered with vintage fabrics and Daylesford homewares. Both Old House and Fowler’s House are a short walk from all the facilities at Daylesford Farm and Bamford Spa – and are available to book now.

THE BOOK:
Anna: The Biography by Amy Odell
As a child, Anna Wintour was a tomboy with no apparent interest in clothes but, seduced by the miniskirts and bob haircuts of Swinging Sixties London, she grew into a fashion-obsessed teenager. Her father, the influential editor of the Evening Standard, loomed large in her life, and once he decided she should become editor in chief of Vogue, she never looked back. Based on extensive interviews with Wintour's closest friends and collaborators, including some of the biggest names in fashion, journalist Amy Odell has crafted a revealing portrait. Weaving her personal story into a larger narrative about the hierarchical dynamics of the fashion industry and the complex world of Condé Nast, Anna charts the relentless ambition of a woman who became an icon.

THE FASHION FILM:
Aje – Biophilia
One of our favourite Australian fashion houses has just presented its first film, Fractal, directed by Bafta and Emmy-nominated filmmaker Shannon Murphy (Killing Eve). If you’re looking for live fashion inspiration, the short film showcases the pre-Fall 2022 Biophilia collection and features rising screen stars Mia Healey, Melanie Jarnson, Krew Boylan and Sophie Wilde. Helmed by profoundly deaf, non-verbal newcomer Emawayat ‘Emi’ Elmitt, the film focuses on Elmitt’s use of movement, signs and shapes, while the collection is a mix of Aje’s signature feminine silhouettes, colour and texture, as well as subtle sun-dappled prints.

THE DESTINATION:
The Twenty Two
The Twenty Two is a new hotel, restaurant and members club on Grosvenor Square, where an Edwardian manor has been redesigned as a west London hideaway. The richly decorated property houses 31 bedrooms and suites – including a mews house – in addition to the public restaurant and private club. When it comes to food and drink, we like the sound of the Devon crab salad, cucumber, radish and sea greens; grilled langoustines with seaweed and garlic butter; and slow-cooked beef pappardelle.
