What’s New In Interiors This Month

The interiors world is brimming with new products, exclusive launches and one-off collections. From intricate wallpaper prints to handblown glassware, here’s everything to have on your radar this September.

Curio by Vanderohe

Each piece of Curio glassware is personally designed by Olivia Thorpe – the founder of skincare and beauty brand Vanderohe – and handblown in the UK. This specialist technique allows the glass to move freely and organically, mirroring the natural elements that inspire each design. We love the pretty sorbet shades, as well as the mottled styles which will help reflect light around a room.

Nat Maks Marbled Prints

Nat Maks – otherwise known as Natascha Maksimovic – has released a collection of original marbled prints using the traditional Japanese art of Suminagashi, meaning 'floating ink’. The process involves placing ink colours on the water’s surface, so they begin to move and expand. Encouraged only to move with the air – nothing else disturbs them – the colours evolve in an organic way to create a dynamic pattern before paper is placed on top to capture the image. Want to try it yourself? Natascha runs virtual workshops so you can create your own works at home.

Objects by Katie Leamon

Stationery designer Katie Leamon has been able to branch into homewares thanks to her latest collaboration with concrete emporium Smith & Goat. The pots and pencil holders which make up the Objects collection are available in three colourways, and all have been inspired by the organic shapes found in nature. Meanwhile, the chalky nature of the concrete gives the pieces a unique finish suitable for contemporary and more classic interior styles.

John Lewis x Waitrose Mattresses

John Lewis has partnered with suppliers Hypnos, H. Dawson and Dalehead to launch a new mattress range which, for the first time ever, will be made with wool provided by Waitrose’s own sheep farmers. Once a highly valued commodity in the UK, wool has been under-utilised for decades, with the price often too low to cover the cost of shearing and farmers forced to burn or bury excess supply. Now, both high-street brands have come together to put a stop to the unnecessary waste, and support farmers working in the British wool industry. The John Lewis Classic wool mattress range starts from £599, while the Hypnos luxury handmade collection starts from £899.
