Studio Silvi Schaumloeffel

Born in Germany and now living in Kelmscott by the Thames, Silvi Schaumloeffel is a contemporary oil painter who worked in motorsport marketing before moving to the UK and devoting her life to painting. While Silvi depicts nature and florals, she isn’t loyal to any specific flower. Instead, her aim to invite you to explore and engage with the thick layers of oil. “The marks have a physicality to them, a dominance [which is] then offset with some flirtatious flicks of colour,” she explains. The result? Large oil paintings that are bold, elegant, dynamic and full of emotion.

Brendan Lancaster

Brendan has been painting for over 20 years, and in that time, he’s explored many styles and subjects while exhibiting work across the UK. He says about his process: "For my subjects, when I see someone doing something interesting, or boring, that I think will make a picture, I take a photo, and store these up for potential paintings. I work out the composition in my sketchbook to simplify it down to the essentials before starting on the canvas." Brendan also takes inspiration from books, including Japanese fiction and in particular, Banana Yoshimoto and Mieko Kawakami.

Soru Lee

Based in Seoul, South Korea, Soru Lee is an artist who also illustrates picture books. Her images are intended to be intuitive and focus on our relationship with nature, many of which are inspired by her own personal experiences. By spending time walking, Soru finds time to reflect on who she is and later translates these moments of self-reflection onto the canvas – it’s no surprise much of her work is full of hope and comfort.

Georgina Crisford

Georgina is a British-born painter based in Wiltshire, who studied at Parsons, The New School in both Paris and New York, before studying part time at London Fine Art Studios. It’s this mixture of contemporary and traditional training which influences her work today. Drawn to documenting scenes of domestic interiors, from humble to grand, cluttered to minimal, smart to whimsical, the interiors Georgina paints are either real or imagined, working from life or using found images. Her room portraits convey a biographical sense of space, showing what has come before as well as what exists now.

Holly Loader

Holly Loader is a mixed media artist and painter based in Brighton. Having received her fine art degree from Central Saint Martins in 2003, she returned to solo work in 2020, and now sources and collects most of her own components, including lapis lazuli, wood ash, ultramarine and chalk. She mixes her paint by hand and takes an experimental approach to the ancient practice of tempera painting. Each work demonstrates the flaws consistent with this unpredictable medium, evolving through a succession of changes before settling into its final form.

Anna Marrow

For 20 years, Anna Marrow had worked as a printmaker, illustrator and image-maker. Having studied fine art in Bristol and then communication design at Central Saint Martins, Anna now draws at home and makes prints at Spike Print Studio, Bristol using household paints, biros, fine liners, pencil crayons and screen printing. Most of her prints begin as biro and ink drawings, which she then develops into collages and later screen prints. The surprising, occasionally humorous and sometimes alarming images combine mundane objects and environments with exotic creatures and characters, and she’s often drawn to objects from her childhood, such as 70s televisions, radios and cars, alongside with urban and suburban landscapes.

The English seasons and the curling structures found in countryside greenery are an endless and rich source of inspiration, not to mention seminal in her paintings.
