25 Antiques We Love This Month

In this monthly feature, we aim to take the hard work out of sourcing one-of-a-kind antiques. From a set of ornate garden chairs to a beautifully upholstered ottoman, here’s what we’ve seen and rate online…

FURNITURE

Biedermeier Sofa, £2,200

The wonderful curves are the main selling point of this antique Swedish Biedermeier sofa, Offering an unrivalled framework for a future reupholstery project, the piece could benefit from some extra cushioning, too.

Large Ottoman, £574.52

This large, upholstered ottoman ticks so many boxes. From the cream-blue tufted fringing and braided edging to the deep buttoning and pleats, it would make a welcome addition to a living room. Plus, the gentle colour would help it blend in with an otherwise neutral scheme.

Rattan Low Chairs, Price On Request

Dating from c.1950 and produced on the French Riviera, these low rattan chairs were designed by Adrien Audoux et Frida Minnet. Still in very good condition, they’ll add a stylish retro touch to a corner of a living space or bedroom.

Wall Mounted Console, £645

 Suitable for interior or exterior use, this pair of early 19th century wrought iron wall brackets has been reconfigured to create a wall-mounted console table or shelf with a thick York stone top - use it in a compact hallway or attach to a garden wall.

Occasional Table, £120

If you’re after a restoration project, take a look at this vintage table with barley twist legs. It would look striking either painted or lacquered despite having a fair amount of wear and tear – regardless, we’re sold on the lovely shape alone.

Set Of Four Garden Chairs, £2,750

If you’re in the market for some generously-sized garden seating, look no further than these mid-century painted metal garden chairs in the Val D'Osne style. All they need is some painted fabric cushions for an extra bit of comfort.

A lovely addition to the corner of a kitchen, the intricately woven design of this table demonstrates the versatility of bamboo and rattan to a tee. We love the beauty of looking through the glass tabletop to see the design beneath.

This pair of bespoke Howard & Sons Bridgewater-style armchairs are handcrafted from a beech frame on tapered mahogany legs and come with British made brass castors. Ideal for some stylish seating in a living room.

Rattan Console Table, Price On Request

This rattan console table with its crystal tabletop is in very good condition. Made in Italy and dating back to 1970, use it to create a show-stopping moment in a hallway, or as an extra surface in a dining room.

Decorative Armchair, £850

Perfect for adding interest to the corner of a bedroom corner, this muted pink velvet upholstered armchair on original castors comes with dark carved sides and intricate detail on the legs.

Chest of Drawers, £395

A sweet Victorian chest with four drawers – two small and two large – this piece is made from pine and has later been painted off-black. The top has a convincing faux marble effect, and the handles are polished brass, too.

Pair of Bobbin Chairs, £1,650

Statement chairs placed either end of a table – like this pair of early 19th-century carved bobbin chairs – would certainly add a decorative touch to any dining room. They’ve also been recovered in Michael Smith fabric.

Oak Table, £595

It’s the legs on this table which are the star of the show.  Perfect as a desk or centrepiece table, it’s made from honeyed oak which already has a nice patina.
