GET A CULTURE FIX:
The Blush Upon Her Cheek at Studio West
Notting Hill gallery Studio West champions cool up-and-coming artists. The gallery’s latest show, The Blush Upon Her Cheek, is a multidisciplinary exhibition of work by the likes of Florence Reekie, Ki Yoong and Leo Costelloe – with the latter known for their avant-garde jewellery that’s loved by insiders and the fashion set. The art is luminous, feminine and seriously cool.

Support A Good Cause:
Lily Vanilli Birthday Project
With a client list including Kate Moss and Lady Gaga, it’s safe to say baker Lily Jones knows about good cake. Her new charitable initiative aims to get birthday cakes to those who otherwise wouldn’t have one. To do so, she’s teamed up with the Mayor’s Fund for London, a charity that champions opportunities for young Londoners from diverse communities and low-income backgrounds. To get involved, you can contribute anything from £1 to £40 for a whole cake, which will be delivered to people on their birthday.

CATCH A PLAY:
Othello at Sam Wanamaker Playhouse
Go and see a classic at the Sam Wanamaker playhouse, London’s only theatre illuminated by candlelight. Directed by Ola Ince, this is a fresh take on the tragedy, as 16th-century Venice becomes modern-day London. Othello grapples with some of the same issues that successful Black people have faced for centuries. More relevant than ever, it’s the journey of one man as he battles against the toxic systems that surround him. Standing tickets cost £5, and seating tickets start from £25.
Sam Wanamaker Playhouse, 21 New Globe Walk, Bankside, SE1 9DT; until 13th April

BOOK AHEAD:
St. John x Fortnum & Mason's Field
Foodies, this is the residency to have on your radar. While St. John’s kitchen at Smithfield gets an overhaul, the team will relocate to Fortnum & Mason’s in-house restaurant Field next month. The space on Fortnum’s ground floor will be transformed with St. John’s signature look – think pared-back, minimalist interiors. The restaurant will be open for breakfast and lunch Tuesday to Sunday, as well as dinner on Thursdays and Fridays. Pop in for a classic St. John bacon sandwich in the AM, or there are dishes like bone marrow and parsley salad, suet-crusted pies, and a selection of comforting desserts later in the day.

END THE WEEKEND RIGHT:
Great Central Pub at The Landmark London
The Landmark London has launched a Sunday roast menu at its Great Central Pub. Head chef Matt Fletcher and his team will serve the full works: roasted British beef sirloin, seasonal veg, roast potatoes, horseradish sauce, and gravy ladled over a giant Yorkshire pudding. Since his appointment at the hotel back in 2022, Fletcher has impressed guests with an unpretentious menu of British classics – think scotch eggs and fish finger sandwiches – and we expect this new roast will be more of the same: comfort food done well.
