GRAB THE POPCORN:

Rivals

Jilly Cooper’s bonkbusting Rutshire Chronicles series was a rite of passage for many 80s teenagers, and now it’s coming to the small screen via Disney+’s eagerly awaited, eight-part adaptation. The ensemble cast has plenty of familiar faces, including David Tennant, Alex Hassell, Danny Dyer, Emily Atack, Aidan Turner and Katherine Parkinson. The plot revolves around a 1980s franchise-based regional TV network and the intense rivalry between a TV station controller (Tennant) and a rakish Conservative MP (Hassell) who are battling it out to be on top – in more ways than one.
