Dahlia Day at Floral Odyssey
Floral Odyssey is the Cotswolds-based florist to know. This weekend, founder Kara and her team will host ‘Floral Odyssey’ workshop days, when guests can learn how to create beautiful arrangements using fresh and dried dahlias. The all-day workshops include an intro to growing dahlias and the importance of colour theory, followed by a flower arrangement session. In the afternoon, you’ll learn about sustainable dried floral design and how to make your own dried arrangement. Tickets cost £150pp, which includes lunch made from Floral Odyssey’s kitchen garden, afternoon drinks on the terrace, and pictures captured by a professional photographer.

Anya Hindmarch x Rosewood London
Rosewood London hotel is celebrating its tenth birthday with a series of cool collaborations and events. This week, it’s teamed up with Anya Hindmarch to create packaging and accessories available at the hotel’s famous Pie Room. The space has been decorated with Anya’s signature eye motif, which also features on the pie box packaging. On Friday 13th and Saturday 14th October, guests can buy ‘Pie with Eyes’ keyrings from the hotel lobby, as well as pieces from her ‘Labelled’ collection. You’ll also find a personalisation station to emboss initials or messages onto leather pieces. Visit the ‘Pie Hole’ to tuck into pies filled with chicken, mushroom and tarragon; dauphinoise potatoes and caramelised onions; and sausage rolls.

God’s Own Junkyard at The Other Art Fair
God’s Own Junkyard is the family run business and light studio that has created signs for places like Ronnie Scott’s and other Soho institutions over the decades. To celebrate its 70th birthday, the neon wonderland will open a light exhibition at Saatchi Art’s The Other Art Fair. The neon artwork will celebrate Soho’s cultural impact across film, fashion and music, with a 1970s-inspired installation. Once you’ve seen the exhibition, browse the pop-up shop to find artwork, vintage light boxes, stage door lights and cinema signs, then have your picture taken in the space by renowned editorial photographer David Ellis.

Lyan X
Ryan Chetiyawardana is Mr Lyan – the ground-breaking, taste-making bar owner and mixologist who has redefined London’s cocktail scene and won more awards than you’ve had negronis. To mark ten years since the opening of his first bar, all five Lyan outposts will be showcased at Sea Containers. Various rooms in the hotel will be transformed into bars including Cub, White Lyan, Super Lyan, and Silver Lyan. Even their décor will be recreated, like the mirrored ceiling at Silver Lyan and Cub’s mustard yellow seating. Guests can try each bar’s signature drinks, including the resurrected ‘Pinnacle Point Fizz’ made with Del Maguey mezcal, nixtamalized blue corn, sloe, ginger bitters, sour pineapple and soda. Guests can also sit down to a dining experience in the Cub room, with five dishes and cocktails served during a sitting each evening (£150pp).

The Curling Club returns to the Southbank Centre on Friday 13th October for another season of winter sports. Guests can challenge up to five friends to a game of curling on the pop-up rinks, then settle any scores over drinks and après ski-inspired food like bratwurst and raclette fries. Contemporary African Art Fair
Somerset House will host the Contemporary African Art Fair this weekend. Curated in partnership with Christie’s, there are 62 international exhibitors and 14 galleries taking part, many of which are exhibiting in the UK for the first time. Visitors will be able to see – and shop – paintings and sculptures from artists like Hako Hankson, Angèle Etoundi Essamba, John Phalane, Terrence Musekiwa and more. Don’t miss the grand sculptures by Niyi Olagunju, who recently exhibited in the RA’s Summer Exhibition.

Wimbledon BookFest
Wimbledon BookFest returns tomorrow with ten days of literary talks and events from authors, politicians and historians. Taking place at venues across the area, the festival’s highlights include a talk with Annie Mac on her new book The Mess We’re In (Fri 13th Oct); a discussion on race, colonialism and beauty standards with authors Bernardine Evaristo and Afua Hirsch (Sun 15th Oct); and a talk with chef and restaurateur Ravinder Bhogal (Sun 22nd Oct). There are events for kids too, including a storytelling session and live drawing event with children’s author and illustrator Ed Vere (Sat 14th Oct).

Art After Dark
Berlin and Paris already have a late-night art programme to get visitors into their best galleries at night – and finally, the initiative has landed in London. Thirty of the capital’s best galleries and museums will keep their doors until 9pm over two days. There’s an exclusive screening inspired by performance artist Marina Abramović at on the Piccadilly Lights, an outdoor art trail in Leicester Square Garden by artists like Claire Luxton and Robert Montgomery, and late-night exhibitions at the National Gallery, National Portrait Gallery and RA.

Frieze London
Frieze London is an art fair where visitors can view and buy art from more than 1,000 artists, as well as tune into talks. In addition to the outdoor sculpture exhibition in Regent’s Park, visitors can drop by Dr Barbara Sturm’s ‘Inflammatory Lounge’ to take part in immersive beauty experiences and 3D face scanning. Over in Mayfair, The Twenty Two has installed an impressive sculpture by New York-based Cuban artist José Parlá.
