FOOD
Poon’s At Somerset House
After years of sell-out pop-ups, Amy Poon has finally opened her first permanent restaurant at Somerset House. Paying homage to her family’s culinary legacy, the menu celebrates authentic Chinese home cooking rarely seen in the UK. Signature dishes such as Zha Jiang Noodles, Claypot Rice and “Magic Soup” sit alongside Chinese small eats (‘siu sik’) served in the library. A curated wine list focuses on small, biodynamic producers, while cocktails created by Clotilde Lataille bring playful twists — think kumquat martinis and toasted rice infusions. Designed as a deeply personal space, the 62-cover restaurant features family art, furniture and books, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere that’s part dining room, part storybook.
