Ronnie Scott’s has just released a series of summer shows throughout June and July. The venue will host a variety of artists spanning several genres – so there’s something for everyone. There are two main sittings per night at 6.30pm and 9.15pm, plus ‘Late Late’ shows at 11.15pm, and performances at its small club Upstairs. On Father’s Day at 12pm, visitors can watch jazz band Pixie & The Gypsies perform new music from their latest album Caught In The Rain. Tickets start from £20pp.

FOR RETRO MOTORS: Classic Car Weekend At Brodsworth Hall
Brodsworth Hall in Yorkshire is hosting a classic car weekend this Father’s Day. Car enthusiasts can visit the estate’s gardens to see hundreds of cars, from vintage vehicles to modern motors from the 80s and 90s. Visitors can learn about different models from their owners, before exploring the estate and stopping by the tearoom for lunch. Tickets cost £14.20pp.

FOR AN INDIAN FEAST: Jamavar
Michelin-starred Indian restaurant Jamavar has created a four-course Father’s Day tasting menu (from £75pp). Paying homage to founder Samyukta Nair’s Indian father and grandfather, the meal is inspired by the family’s most loved dishes. Start with scallop molee (cooked in coconut milk and tomatoes), achari murgh chicken tikka, or mushroom galouti, before moving onto a main course of lobster neruli. To finish, there’s a chocolate coffee delice with cardamom ice-cream. You can also add on wine pairings for an extra £50pp.

La Belle Assiette specialises in taking the stress out of entertaining at home. Either order gift vouchers or organise your own dinner party where a private chef will create a bespoke menu for you and your guests. Choose a starter, main course and dessert, then pick a delivery date for the ingredients to arrive. On the night, your private chef will cook and serve the meal and even wash up at the end of the evening. We like the sound of the new spring menu, which includes confit duck croquettes with apricot compote; rack of lamb with dauphinoise potatoes, roasted carrots, and a rosemary jus; and lemon posset with meringue and raspberries. FOR GREAT STREET FOOD: WingJam
The UK’s biggest chicken wing festival arrives just in time for Father’s Day. Taking place at Waterloo Vaults, visitors can sample more than 50 flavour combinations from 15 vendors including Chicken George Jr, Wing Lab and The Korean Cowgirl. Among the sweet, spicy and tangy combinations, there will be some seriously spicy chicken wings and out-there flavours like strawberry cheesecake and doughnut wings. As well as craft beers on tap, there will be cooking demos, live music, entertainment and a spicy wing eating contest. Tickets cost £17.50pp for afternoon or evening slots.

This new exhibition celebrates the story of tennis legend Fred Perry and his eponymous clothing line. Celebrating 70 years since the first Fred Perry shirt hit the high street, it charts the company’s tennis beginnings to its contemporary relevance today. Visitors will find out how the cultural significance of the Fred Perry polo shirt has evolved over the decades. Expect to see retro accessories, magazine cut outs, adverts, short films and more.

FOR WHISKY TASTING: The Athenaeum Hotel & Residences
The Athenaeum Hotel & Residences has created a whisky tasting experience at its lounge, The View. Dads will appreciate panoramic city views from the hotel’s tenth floor while they try a selection of world whiskies chosen by the hotel’s head barman. During the masterclass, guests can try whisky from the Oxford Artisanal Distillery, as well as a Balcones Texas Single Malt from the US and a single malt whisky from the Scottish Highlands – to name a few. Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds are currently on tour and will play at the Kenwood estate by Hampstead Heath on Father’s Day.
