The Best Places To Shop In Abu Dhabi
MALLS
The Galleria
When it first opened on Al Maryah Island back in 2013, the Galleria was a pure luxury retail hub. A few years ago, it added a new wing dedicated to international favourites like Zara and H&M, but its high-end offering retains an atmosphere of exclusivity. Loro Piana, Brunello Cucinelli, Bulgari and Hermès are all clustered around a central water feature that itself hides a remarkable Apple Store. This is also where you’ll find Etoile La Boutique, the multi-brand womenswear pioneer with outposts across the Gulf.

Yas Mall
On Yas Island, Abu Dhabi’s biggest mall feels like a town in both size and layout. Around a central courtyard, its streets, avenues and boulevards are lined with the outlets of almost 400 international brands. One significant name to know here is Tryano. Spread across three floors within the mall, it’s Abu Dhabi’s first true department store, where fashion, accessories and beauty each have dedicated, distinctively designed spaces. For anyone not in the mall to shop, there’s a long roster of entertainment options, including Ferrari World on the ground floor.

Al Wahda Mall
Just off Hazza Bin Zayed Street, Al Wahda Mall is one of the city’s largest and most accessible retail destinations. It’s a local go-to for everything, spanning home to high-street stores like H&M, Gant, Nike, M.A.C and even an Ikea. The recent extension has added even more space, with plenty of affordable retailers to explore.

BOUTIQUES
Al Boushiya
Within Avenue at Etihad Towers, where you’ll also find Tom Ford, this family-owned boutique was founded by four sisters in Kuwait City and reached Abu Dhabi in the early 1990s. Three generations of the family now work behind the scenes to bring runway-worthy eveningwear and bridalwear to the Emirates. This is a place where Erdem and Oscar de la Renta share the spotlight with the best local designers.

Maison7
Maison7 is one of our favourite boutiques in Marina Mall. Just like its sister stores in Istanbul and Dubai, it showcases the work of four talented and unique designers. What unites them is their desire to inspire women with creations that embody both elegance and confidence.

Region Concept Space
When The Frankie Shop wanted to do something in Abu Dhabi, it popped up at the Region Concept Space. At this unit within Mina Zayed’s regenerated warehouse district, Region’s founders Johara Saeed and Alanoud Mohamed have built a creative hub that runs on good coffee, minimalist design and an evolving series of cool collaborations and pop-ups.

MYSK
On Saadiyat Island, MYSK has become a cult destination not just for its exceptional flat whites (there’s more on them in our EAT section). It’s a rare hybrid: a café-bakery featuring a flower bar in its gallery-like main space. The floral arrangements here tend to be eye-catchingly contemporary, and they’re often fighting for your attention with pop-up markets featuring the work of local artisans and vendors.
