This luxury family-owned department store was one of the first to open on Passeig de Gràcia over 175 years ago. It showcases Spanish labels you won’t find elsewhere, as well as big designer names like Bottega Veneta, Toteme, Zimmermann and Cult Gaia. The store has its own range of fragrances, as well as a tailoring house for made-to-measure items.

Gabriel For Sach

You might have seen its name on resale site Vestiaire Collective. Created by designer Gabriela Comella, Barcelona-based Gabriel For Sach is known for its chic leather handbags in a range of contemporary shapes. Nearly all the pieces are made by artisans in its studio, and prices won’t break the bank – bags start from around £200. There’s also a selection of jewellery and ready to wear.

Vasquiat

Eixample is home to some great boutiques, including this newly opened concept store, which features a mix of established and emerging Spanish designers. Look for whimsical dresses by Valentina Karnoubi, pretty accessories by BPCR Studio, jeans by Résumé, and cool sunglasses by Delarge.

Masscob

Two of Spain’s hottest designers, Marga Massanet and Jacobo Cobián, have joined their names and created this brand, which drops one small collection each season. Its store in Eixample showcases its contemporary pieces, from cotton shirts and trousers to printed dresses and slip skirts. Invest now and you’ll have them for years to come.

Eliurpi

Elisabet Urpí and Nacho Umpiérrez show their artwork at galleries around Spain. They also have this beautiful appointment-only boutique with a selection of homeware, clothing and accessories – think intricately woven sun hats and line two-pieces. We love the brand’s straw bags for summer.

This small label makes all its pieces at its studio in Eixample. The boutique is open on weekday afternoons, when you can browse its collection of linen and silk dresses, two-pieces, suits and statement coats. The team is also set to open a larger exhibition space and studio nearby.

Moirai Market

This vintage store is a refuge for everything from old-season designer dresses to affordable accessories and bags. Rails of clothes are divided by colour, so you can make a beeline for something specific or go panning for hidden gold. There are plenty of Y2K options, as well as classic pieces and cool sunglasses.

La Manual Alpargatera

This historic footwear store near Las Ramblas has been hand-making espadrilles since the 1940s. The walls in its small workshop are lined with rows of shoes, while friendly craftspeople are on hand to answer questions if you’re after something bespoke. Standard shoes start from just €15.

Bassal Store

From outside, this store could be mistaken for a chic gallery, but look a little closer and you’ll see a small edit of clothes behind the marble plinths. Just a short walk from Gaudi's La Pedrera, Bassal occupies the former home of modernist architect Josep Puig i Cadafalch, and showcases emerging brands like Bielo, Cordera, Marsèll and Barcelona-based Nathalie Schreckenberg.

La Roca Village

The Bicester Collection has a designer outlet village just outside the city. Easily reached via a 30-minute train, it’s home to over 150 boutiques from fashion and lifestyle brands – all at up to 60% off. Brands include Loewe, Jimmy Choo, Ba&sh, Maje, Gucci, Prada and Zadig&Voltaire. Post-shopping, head to the tapas restaurant or ice-cream parlour for a bite to eat.

M69 is a French-owned menswear boutique. Created by streetwear kingpins Albert Prat and Jordi Pedrosa, the store stocks brands like Comme des Garçons, Veja, Saint James and K-Way. There’s a small lifestyle section with fragrances and toiletries, plus a few women’s pieces.

Sneakerheads may already know Sivasdescalzo has three streetwear stores around the world: Dubai, Madrid and Barcelona.
