London Chic is a portrait of England’s capital through the eyes of quintessential Londoner Charles Finch and celebrated photographer Mark Anthony Fox. From Savile Row to Soho, Buckingham Palace to Columbia Road Flower Market, this new book from Assouline captures the city’s endless contrasts: posh meets punk, regal meets underground, modern meets classic. Within its pages, London’s most iconic institutions and coolest tastemakers come to life, featuring figures such as Dame Kristin Scott Thomas, Daphne Guinness, Ozwald Boateng and Jeremy King.

THE RELAUNCH:

Celine Phantom

The Céline Phantom is back, and its revival feels both nostalgic and timely. Originally launched by Phoebe Philo in 2011 as the slouchier sister to the Luggage Tote, the Phantom became a cult classic, seen on the arms of Rihanna, Nicole Richie and more. Now, newly appointed creative director Michael Rider, a former Philo protégé, has reimagined the silhouette in his debut collection, staying true to its sculptural roots while giving it a fresh, modern edge. Expect to see it everywhere once again.

THE HOMEWARE:

JW Anderson

JW Anderson has launched homeware via a collection that brings together Irish earthenware pottery, Irish linen and handblown Murano glass. Expertly handcrafted by Wedgwood artisans, the hero piece is a limited-edition coffee cup and saucer. Coloured in Jasper blue with white inlays, each cup and saucer are formed by hand then high-fired to create a matte, tactile finish. Then there’s the showstopping ceramic striped mug, which is made for everyday use. The striped design is hand-painted on for a unique finish on each, designed by Nicholas Mosse, who is known for producing handmade, functional pottery in the style of Irish Spongewares.
