The SL girls are sick of me talking about this one but it was honestly my favourite discovery of 2024. Host Lauren Sherman has managed to turn her Puck News newsletter, Line Sheet, into a bit of a cult phenomenon. Before her, I’m not sure there really was such a thing as an investigative fashion journalist. Each week she sits down either with special guests (I loved the Morgan Stewart episode) or industry insiders to discuss the latest goings-on in fashion.

Sentimental In The City
I’ve probably lost count of the number of times I’ve listened to this limited series co-hosted by Dolly Alderton and Caroline O’Donoghue. A deep-dive look back over the six original seasons of Sex and the City, it originally dropped at the height of lockdown 3.0 but I still listen to the long-form episodes (most are two-plus hours) on long car journeys. Part of the broader Sentimental Garbage show, I highly recommend subscribing to the current weekly episodes too, which examine the cultural relevance of everything from 10 Things I Hate About You to My Best Friend’s Wedding.

I’ll Read What She’s Reading
BookTok girlies, this one’s for you. If you’ve caught the fantasy, romance – or ‘romantasy’ – bug, then Reggie, Kennedy and Mikayla will become your new reading besties. I first jumped on this new literary wave in 2023, and this podcast was one of the first I subscribed to. I’ve been a devoted listener every week since. I love how they’ve got their finger on the pulse when it comes to recent releases, trending titles – plus, they’re fair and balanced in their opinions, which feels pleasantly refreshing, as does the complete lack of reading snobbery.

Miss Me?
Hosted by lifelong friends Lily Allen and Miquita Oliver, Miss Me? is part cultural commentary, part personal confessional – and always completely unfiltered. Alongside the occasional guest, they cover everything from topics like contraception to our obsession with the 90s and the latest celebrity gossip. I love hearing about the stories from their youth, as well as the ins and outs of their other A-list friendships. It’s funny, raw and often unexpectedly moving.

Shameless
I’ve been listening to Shameless for years and still find myself recommending it to anyone who’ll listen. Michelle and Zara have a knack for dissecting pop culture in a way that’s smart and considered but never too serious. Whether they’re unpacking the most recent celeb scandal, revisiting a nostalgic moment from the early 2000s or dropping an ‘emergency’ episode, it always feels relevant. Their recent episode about the famous men who have bounced back after a scandal is a must-listen.

Every Outfit
If you’re into fashion, Bravo and a healthy dose of sarcasm, this one’s for you. Hosted by Chelsea Fairless and Lauren Garroni – the same duo behind @EveryOutfitOnSATC – it’s a funny, unfiltered take on everything from celebrity style to internet culture. Their commentary is sharp, their references are niche and their love for SATC is unmatched.

Criminal
Phoebe Judge’s voice is so calming and engaging – it makes you want to keep listening. The episodes are thoughtfully crafted, focusing on unusual or little-known cases that humanise the people involved rather than sensationalising crime. The show combines solid journalism with real emotional depth, making each story genuinely compelling and easy to follow. It strikes just the right balance between intrigue and substance.

Each episode is smart and insightful with real-world examples that are so inspiring.

Fake Heiress
Even though this it’s a few years old, it still feels relevant. Hosted by Vicky Baker, with drama by Chloe Moss, it tells the wild story of Anna Delvey through a mix of sharp journalism and gripping scripted scenes. It feels like a true-crime mini-series for your ears, and even though I’ve listened before, I’ve come back to it. It’s bingeable, well-told and a scandalous story.

Ride
Hosted by comedians Benny Drama and Mary Beth Barone, Ride is serotonin in podcast form. It’s a chaotic, campy and comforting deep-dive into friendship, fame and the ridiculousness of modern life. They cover everything from pop culture and celebrity drama to therapy chat and niche internet moments, and it always makes me laugh in that quiet, wheezy way that gets you stared at on the tube. It's less about guests and more about their relationships and inside jokes – which over the episodes become yours too. Plus if you've started watching Overcompensating there's lots of BTS show chat weaved in, too.

Therapuss With Jake Shane
Therapuss feels exactly like the kind of offbeat, hilarious debrief you’d have after a night out. Jake has a real knack for storytelling and self-roasting to keep things light, even when the topics go deep. He’s brilliant with guests (expect everyone from Anne Hathaway to Charli XCX) but the real charm is in his tangents – half the time it barely matters who he’s talking to because he’s so funny just being himself. It’s the perfect mix of nonsense and honesty.

Sweet Bobby
If you're fascinated by catfishing stories, this podcast is a must-listen. Sweet Bobby is one of the most gripping true-crime stories I’ve ever heard. It’s about a complex catfishing case that unfolds over years, involving manipulation and emotional abuse. What starts as a curious online romance spirals into something far darker. I was hooked from the first episode and the twist at the end is beyond shocking.
