Mary Greenwell: 11 Products I Buy On Repeat

As one of the most sought-after make-up artists working today, Mary Greenwell is an icon in the beauty industry. So when it comes to products, she knows what works and what's worth the money. From the apple cider vinegar she swears by to the concealer she stockpiles, here are the products she’s never without…
01

Bio-Oil, £22.99

It’s a classic for a reason. Nothing soaks in as well or works as fast to improve the appearance of my skin. I like to apply it as soon as I come out of a warm bath or shower for maximum absorption – and you can also pour some into the bath for extra skin-softening benefits.

02

Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Concealer, £34.50

I never go anywhere without this silky concealer. It’s fantastic and thanks to the creamy texture, you can blend it everywhere to instantly take down redness or uneven tone. I tend to use it in place of foundation as the coverage is so good, and often, you only need a small amount of base blended onto the skin – not a full face of foundation.

03

Sam McKnight Cool Girl Barely There Texture Mist, £10

When my hair looks dirty, or if it simply needs some grit and texture, I spritz in this mist by Sam McKnight. Unlike other texturisers, it isn’t sticky and gives a cool, tousled wave that makes day-old hair feel refreshed – as does the botanical fragrance.

04

Sensai Volumising Mascara 38 °C, £26

This is my favourite mascara of all time. It has a great brush that allows the product to coat the lashes seamlessly. It’s easy to remove with warm, water too – no make-up remover required.

05

Braggs Organic Apple Cider Vinegar, £6.99

Every morning I drink this with warm water. It’s full of alkaline nutrients, so it balances out your acids and aids with digestion, helping to ensure proper function throughout the day. I buy big bottles in bulk and there isn’t a day goes by where I don’t take a swig. It makes me feel healthier and invigorated – I can’t recommend it enough.

06

Sisley Nutritive Lip Balm, £52.50

This lip balm has been in my kit for years. It has a beautiful glossy texture that gives lips a pretty sheen – you can use it on the cheeks, too, for a bit of illumination. It’s totally plant-based and is formulated with shea butter and kokum to get rid of dry patches. You’ll find a good layer keeps lips soft and flake free for days.

07

111SKIN Space Anti-Age Day Cream, £150

One of my go-to brands, I use this cream every day and on all my clients. It’s light in texture, so it sits imperceptibly with other products, but it’s also thick enough to hydrate and moisturise for supple skin. You’ll notice results after just a few days thanks the high levels of hyaluronic acid and vitamin complexes. It’s an investment, but so worth it.

Medik8 R-Retinoate Serum, £135

A good retinol that’s gentle and effective is hard to come by, which is why I love this one. It’s so kind to skin, it can be used daily, slowly exfoliating and boosting cell turnover for a healthier-looking complexion. At my age, anything too strong just becomes drying, but this keeps skin fresh and improves the overall look. I use it day and night and love the results.

09

Clé de Peau Beauté The Serum, £215

When my skin is looking dull or feeling lifeless, I turn to this serum. The silky formula works well with my Medik8 Retinol. It adds luminosity, while strengthening and repairing the skin barrier for a firmer appearance. The hydrating formula is particularly good for anyone that suffers with dryness, like me.

10

Virtue Healing Oil, £40

My hair is very dry, grey and short, so it doesn’t need to be washed more than once a week. In-between, I like to apply a little of Virtue’s clever healing oil. It’s a godsend when my hair looks dirty as it adds visible shine without an oily or greasy feel. You only need one pump each time you use it, scrunching it into hair as you go for a soft feel and healthier-looking strands.

11

Imedeen Prime Renewal Supplements, £60

If you’re over 50, I can’t recommend these enough. They come with impressive research that proves they counteract decreasing oestrogen levels in your skin, keeping your collagen production high for strong, supple skin. I take the morning and night sachet and have done for years – a must-have for anyone wanting to maintain skin elasticity and firmness.
