Soak Sunday Midnight Storm Oil-To-Milk Body Cleanser, £16
Soak Sunday is one of my favourite brands right now. Fully sustainable and ethical, the entire range is luxe, but still affordable. Its Bath & Body Oils – which can be used in the shower as well – can be rubbed directly onto wet skin; watch as the oil turns into a nourishing milk. There are three scents available, but I love Midnight Storm’s herbal, medicinal quality. A little goes a long way, so they should last you for a few months – although if you do run out, you can purchase refills.

St Tropez Self Tan Purity Face Mist, £22
Despite being a beauty editor, I’ve long had a bit of phobia of self-tan. It’s taken time to find one that works for me, but this lightweight mist is now my favourite. The shade is natural, and the hydrating formula never causes my skin to feel tight or stripped. Better still, the colour builds gradually within a few hours, so you can continue to layer up the mist if you want to go darker. I’ve managed to eke it out for months, but the time has definitely come to restock.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Freeze, £24
Normally it takes me months to finish a brow wax or gel, but that wasn’t the case with Brow Freeze. Unlike similar formulas, this one is easy to apply and doesn’t leave behind any stickiness. It immediately delivers that ‘laminated effect’ and sculpts hairs into place so they never look messy. Simply dab a spoolie into the formula before running it through your brows in upward strokes. You’ll notice a difference immediately. The glossy, groomed finish is second to none – but you apply another brow product on top for extra definition if you want.

19/99 Beauty Lash-Tint Mascara, £14
There’s a time and place for a full-on mascara, but sometimes a lighter, clump-free finish can be just as effective. This one from 19/99 delivers on the latter. The slim wand has tiny bristles that separate and lengthen all the lashes for a defined, tinted look that still seems natural. It’s also water-resistant (not waterproof, though) so it doesn’t easily smudge or flake, but still melts away with warm water at the end of the day. It’s great for defining the lower lashes, as well.

Paula’s Choice 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliant, £29
A recent break-up with the pill has caused sudden breakouts all over my back and chest. When I asked the pros for their advice, there was one product which kept cropping up – this Liquid Exfoliant from Paula’s Choice. With a thin consistency, it uses salicylic acid to get down deep into the skin’s dermis, removing dead skin cells for a smoother surface. It’s full of anti-inflammatory properties, which are known for reducing spots, blackheads and whiteheads. Despite how potent it is, I’ve not found it too astringent or harsh – and that’s coming from someone with paper-thin skin. Now I’m finished, I’ll be restocking asap. While the breakouts haven’t disappeared entirely, this has taken down the redness and swelling, and helped dry them up.

Bite Beauty Changemaker Skin-Optimising Primer, £36
I don’t think primers are always necessary, but when they come with added skin benefits – like this one from Bite – they can be worth it. Formulated with olive oil and hydrating glycerin, this delivers moisture into the skin while the lightweight texture leaves everything soft to the touch with no residual tackiness. It also lends skin a subtle glow and evens out your complexion, so you can get away without foundation on top. I’ve enjoyed using a little on my eyelids – it’s brilliant for helping powders and cream eyeshadows go the extra mile.

Bjork & Berries September Eau de Parfum, £85
I rarely reach the end of fragrances and if I do, it usually takes time to get there. This one I whizzed through because it’s so wearable all year-round – despite what the name may suggest. Inside you’ll find notes of pomelo, lavender, eucalyptus, apple blossom, jasmine and vetiver smoke. It’s a mixture that shouldn’t work, but ends up being warm, unisex and fresh at the same time. Just a spritz will make you feel clean and cosy.

Avene Hydrance Intense Rehydrating Serum, £21
Avène is a brand that works well for my sensitive skin. Never heavy or irritating, the lightweight textures deliver brilliant hydration – which explains how I got through this Rehydrating Serum within weeks. Brimming with Thermal Spring Water, it nourishes and softens while the active ingredient ‘Cohederm’ strengthens the skin’s barrier for a healthier-looking complexion. You don’t have to wait to see results either – within just a few uses my skin felt much softer. It also preps skin well for make-up.

Bare By Vogue Williams Liquid Body Illuminator, €25
This hasn’t been on the market long but it’s easily one of my favourite products of 2021. Great at taking the edge off pale, autumnal skin, the glossy golden formula quickly enhances dullness in a subtle way. There’s zero commitment – you can apply it and wash it off in the evening or morning, so there’s never any painstaking wait for a natural fade like with traditional fake tan. I love that it comes with a chunky body brush to help buff it in for a more seamless, even blend. Plus, it contains vitamin A, vitamin C and hyaluronic acid to further boost the moisture in your skin. Ideal on shins, the collarbone or anywhere you’d like your skin to catch the light.

Lore Originals Cleanse + Purify Shampoo & Conditioner, £18 each
Lore Originals has been on my radar for some time, and it’s this shampoo and conditioner I always come back to. Vegan, cruelty-free and housed in recyclable packaging, its gentle formulas use sea salt and cactus extract to gently exfoliate the scalp and get rid of product build-up. Never harsh or astringent, they lock in moisture, too, thanks to a combination of natural oils and essential acids, so hair never feels stripped or dry. Regular use has left my hair feeling fuller, cleaner and much softer. I love the herbal scent, which lingers on your hair for days. It’s an investment, but worth it for the results.
