This Sellout Beauty Range Has Launched At NET-A-PORTER

Having amassed a loyal Instagram following of over 27m, Huda Kattan is a big deal in beauty. Since shooting to fame on social media, she's launched her own line of cosmetics, Huda Beauty, which is so in demand that a wait-list is required for nearly all of her new products. This week marks the arrival of the brand on NET-A-PORTER, so we sat down with the blogger-turned-entrepreneur to talk all things beauty...

What's in your make-up bag right now?
I actually don’t carry a make-up bag. The only product I ever have with me all the time is my Huda Beauty Lip Contour Pencil in Trendsetter and that’s it. It’s so funny because I am always asked what I carry with me on a night out and I never have anything. My make-up stays on from morning until late at night – I can go all day without retouching it.

Any tips for easy, natural contouring you can do at home?
The most important thing to remember is to be light-handed with your contour, so there’s enough to show off your cheekbones, but it’s not obvious. I like to use a cream to contour, and then I apply powder bronzer to warm up the face. It really is about the blending, too

Whose make-up do you always admire?
The girls in my office are always experimenting with new make-up looks and I take inspiration from them. I love how adventurous some of them are when it comes to bold eye looks.

Speaking of your brand, what's next for the Huda Beauty?
We are launching a fragrance very soon, which is super exciting. I can’t reveal much but it’s inspired by the Middle East and I'm so excited for people to try it. Mona [Kattan, Huda’s sister] is a huge perfume lover so this has been something we’ve both wanted to do for a very long time, and now just felt the right time to do it.

Best piece of beauty advice you've ever received?
Double-cleanse. I didn’t realise how important this was until really recently and it has changed my skin. It takes a couple of extra minutes when you’re removing your make-up, but the benefit is absolutely worth it.

What are your go-to skincare brands?
I'm really into my skincare and swear by Anne Semonin, Skinceuticals and Guerlain. There are so many more, but those are my daily go-to brands.

Cream or oil cleanser?
Both. I would advise double-cleansing using an oil-based cleanser first and then a cream cleanser.

Favourite anti-aging product?
SkinCeuticals C E Ferulic Serum is definitely a favourite – I've been using it for years.

Best exfoliator?
I was recently sent The Method: Polish by Lancer Skincare and it's without a doubt the best exfoliator I've used. The formula is really fine so it buffs away all dead skin, make-up, everything. After using it only once my skin felt brand new afterward.

What's the weirdest treatment you've tried?
Right now I am trying the NuBODY Skin Toning Kit. It’s an at-home device that uses microcurrents to tone the skin and, I have to say, I've genuinely noticed a difference.

How do you look after your hair, what products do you use?
I usually get to the office with wet hair but like to pin it up right on top of my head. That way, when it dries, it already has a lot of volume. A huge lifesaver has been Ouai’s Dry Shampoo, which helps extend your blow-dry. Things are so busy at the Huda Beauty headquarters that sometimes I don’t have time to wash my hair. I even had a shower put in my office because things get so crazy sometimes I have no time to wash my hair at home.

Last but not least, your island beauty product?
Definitely coconut oil â€“ there are a million different uses for it.
