THE SKIN PREP

These NuFace cloths are perfect for sloughing off dead skin cells. Exfoliation creates a smoother base for make-up and it gives you better glow, too. Afterwards, I use the intensive hydration serum from Drunk Elephant to flood my skin with a healthy dose of moisture and keep it looking fresh and plump all day.

B-Hydra Serum, £42 | Drunk Elephant
Prep-N-Glow Cloths, £19 | NuFace

THE PRIMER

I tend to lean towards an elixir or spray over a traditional make-up primer. For me, a well hydrated complexion is the most important thing, so a few spritzes of this before my foundation more than does the trick. With light top ups throughout the day, my skin constantly feels fresh, glow-y and radiant.

Beauty Elixir, £32 | Caudalie

THE FOUNDATION

In the winter, I typically prefer a skin tint or tinted moisturiser. But, when life calls for a bit more coverage, I go back to an old faithful – my beloved M·A·C Pro Longwear Waterproof Foundation. It wears like an absolute dream, is easy to build and has the perfect second-skin finish.

Pro Longwear Nourishing Waterproof Foundation, £32 | M·A·C

THE CONCEALER

This Kosas concealer has gone viral on TikTok, so I decided to put it to the test and suffice to say, I’ve fallen in love with the creamy texture and high coverage finish. It’s never cakey or heavy and I love how silky it is – it’s a dream to blend. If you ask me, good make-up should feel good on the skin, as well as looking good.

Revealer Super Creamy + Brightening Concealer, £26 | Kosas

THE BRONZER

With a fine powder formulation and just the right undertone, this is never too orange on my skin. Instead, it gives more of a ‘brontouring’ effect, by which I mean it sculpt and warms up the contours of my face at the same time. Plus, it’s big, so it makes a great on-the-go mirror.

Airbrush Bronzer, £42 | Charlotte Tilbury

THE BLUSH & HIGHLIGHT

The ambient lighting palette from Hourglass is a blush and highlight all in one. The size and the feel – as well as the variety of shades you can play with – make it the perfect, multipurpose product to have in your make-up bag. At the moment I’m using the ‘Elephant Palette’ which comes in chic limited-edition packaging designed by artist Katie Scott.

Ambient Lighting Palette, £61 | Hourglass

THE EYES

I’ve never really used eyeshadow palettes. Instead, I’ll dip into other powder products to add definition or depth. For example, using a bronzer, blush or highlight creates a more natural, lived-in look when you use them on the eyes. That said, this Shiseido Kajal – in any colour – is incredible if you want something more dramatic like a smokey eye.

Kajal Inkartist, £23 | Shiseido

THE MASCARA

From the tiny wand to the way it expertly separates and lengthens my lashes, there’s nothing I don’t like about this mascara. Plus, it never clumps and the finish is so impressive. It’s also so easy to take off at the end of the day, so you don’t have to damage your lashes in the process.

Extended Play Lash Mascara - Gigablack, £20 | M·A·C

THE BROWS

Usually, I only slightly fill in my brows using whatever pencil I have to hand – I’m not too fussy with them. The important part is making sure they’re softly brushed up. I love using this tamer product with a little spoolie to achieve my desired finish.

Edge Tamer, £11.45 | KeraCare

THE UNIQUE FIND

Alongside my Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette, I always have an empty Vueset close by to decant my favourite cream products into. That way, I know I can put together a whole make-up look using just that if I need to. It’s perfect for travelling if you’re tight on space, too.

Viking Jack, £11.45 | Vueset

THE MAKE-UP BAG

Elizabeth Scarlett makes such special make-up bags – I was so happy to be given one for my birthday. I love these pouches particularly – not only because they’re pretty, but because they’re durable and the perfect size to store all my essentials, day or night.

Sun & Moon Everyday Pouch, £22 ( was £28) | Elizabeth Scarlett
