The Powder Kiss Background
Launched in 2019, Powder Kiss was one of the first lipstick ranges to offer matte, velvety textures that still felt hydrating and comfortable to wear. Responding to demand for lighter, yet still buildable coverage, M·A·C launched Powder Kiss Liquid Lipcolour and extended the range further with Powder Kiss Liquid in 2020. Both were designed to deliver a soft-focus finish that looks more diffused and less stark around the edges – in other words, romantic, fresh and flattering.
The Newest Addition
Powder Kiss Velvet Blur Slim Stick is the latest addition to the line-up. Born backstage at the fashion shows, it was launched to imitate the blotted lip trend. Set to be another bestseller, it’s designed for those who want long-lasting colour – up to 12-hours at a time – but with a velvety feel that’s never tight or drying. Meanwhile, the slim, sleek case makes it perfect for on the go, and the rounded bullet hugs lips for a smooth, even finish every time. It’s a bit like applying a balm – simple and fuss-free. Available in 12 flattering, artist-approved shades – including our favourite, ‘Vivid Blue Red’ – all the colours can be dialled up or down depending on your desired finish.
The Application Hacks To Know
Dry lips can cause any lipstick to look rough and uneven, so it’s important to prep them first with lip care products like M·A·C Lip Scrubtious and Prep + Prime Lip. Massage Lip Scrubtious all over your lips to get rid of any dryness or flakes, using a circular motion to work it in and then wipe away with tissue, or rinse off if desired. Next, apply a thin layer of Prep + Prime Lip over the entire lip area and over the lip edges. Don’t forget about lip liner, either. We like using the M·A·C Lip Pencil as a base colour – apply it to the whole of your lip before any product goes on top. That way, once the colour has worn off naturally, you’re not left with any harsh outer lines.
