Eyes To Mesmerise, £22 | Charlotte Tilbury

Arguably one of Charlotte Tilbury’s best products to date, these cream shadows have been designed to bring out the intensity in your eyes. They’re also full of vitamin E to keep skin nourished and smooth, in turn keeping pigment even so you never get wrinkling or flaking. Make-up artist Lisa Potter-Dixon recommends applying them with your fingers or a brush to gently buff them in – less is more as these are creamier than most. Once dry, pat a little extra onto the centre of your lids to further brighten and enhance your eyes.

Eye Pod, £28 | Westman Atelier

These look like powders, but as you smudge them into your lids, they melt down into a creamy, budge-proof texture. Soft and shimmery, they catch the light beautifully and never look or feel too heavy. As for the formula, coconut oil and fatty acids combine for an easier blend, while the lack of fragrance or talc means you never have to worry about irritation in this delicate area. Buy the pods as individuals or pick up a few at once – we love how they’re designed to snap together for maximum portability.

Ombre Blackstar Sticks, £29 | By Terry

One of By Terry’s most popular launches, these sticks come in several eye-opening shades – no wonder they’re frequently dubbed ‘the best cream eyeshadows around’. Malleable and smooth in texture, they’re easy to build up and mix, with pigment that’s seriously long-lasting. The ‘Misty Rock’ tone is beautiful for an alternative smokey eye or try ‘Immaculate Light’ for extra luminosity.

Ombre Premiére Cream Eyeshadow, £29 | Chanel

Make-up artists swear by these Chanel cream shadows. Acting as both a primer and shadow, they cling to the lids for a budge-proof finish. The colour payoff is impressive too – just a small dab will cover your entire eyelid. Sheer, buildable and easy to blend, they’re available in several wearable shades – perfect as a base before you apply further eye make-up.

Caviar Stick Eye Colour, £23 | Laura Mercier

Laura Mercier’s Caviar Sticks are legendary. The buttery soft formula is a doddle to apply, yet the colour payoff is impressive – they’re available in matte and shimmer tones, depending on whether you want something more statement or low-key. Use them to create everything from subtle line definition to an intense smokey eye in just one swipe, – they’re a great starting point if you’re new to cream eyeshadows.

Pro Longwear Paint Pot, £18.50 | MAC

Frequently used backstage and recommended by make-up artist Cher Webb, these eyeshadow pots are easy to work with and never crease or ripple. Designed to absorb excess oil, they set fast and act as a great base for other formulas to adhere to. They also look elegant worn on their own day-to-day.

Creamy Eyeshadows, £3.50 (was £6.99) | Kiko Cosmetics

A-list make-up artist Caroline Barnes swears by these ‘swipe and go’ creams. Affordable and easy-to-use, they have a silky, blendable texture that can be applied as a muted wash or layered up for more definition. You only need a small amount to create a foolproof look, and you’ll find they wear well throughout the day. No 4pm creasing here.

Colorstay Creme Eye Shadow, £6.99 | Revlon

These budget cream shadows are incredibly wearable, with a thin lightweight texture and wet-look finish. What’s more, they live up to the long-wear hype – with an almost tacky texture, they stay put and don’t migrate down your face, no matter how warm or wet the weather gets. Make the shades ‘Praline’ and ‘Caramel’ your go-tos for a soft, smokey eye.

Eyelights, £25 | RMS Beauty

We had to snap these up the minute we saw them on Instagram. Available in six subtle, metallic shades, they provide a sheer wash of colour that catches the light beautifully. Ideal if you like that wet-look lid, as well as a buildable texture that can be amped up or muted depending on your preference, the added organic green tea keeps inflammation at bay while quinoa extracts nourish and soothe. We love that each tube includes a reusable key, which allows you to squeeze out the remaining contents before you recycle it.

Double Date Eye Duo, £18 | Wander Beauty

Every Wander Beauty product is created to make life easier. That includes these compact shadows – each of which comes with their own mirror. Housing both a cream and powder shadow, the two textures combine for a long-lasting eye look – or use them solo for more of a sheer, satin-y wash of colour. We love the ‘Smitten/Swoon’ shades for a daytime smokey eye.
