9 Beauty Looks We’re Loving This Month

From Karlie Kloss’s take on a smokey eye, to glossy lids and faux freckles, here are the nine beauty looks inspiring us right now – and how to get them…

Karlie Kloss, Hung Vanngo

The Look: Soft, Smokey Eyes

How To Create: Combining smouldering eyes with an almost-nude lip, this look has a 90s theme we love. Classic and sophisticated, make-up artist Hung Vanngo swapped glitter for shimmer on the lids for a more modern take, while keeping the cheeks softly bronzed and brows swept up into place. You just need one solid palette to recreate the effects of this eye, like Tom Ford’s new eye quad. Pair that with a long-lasting lipstick and you’re good to go.

Ella Purnell, Nikki DeRoest

The Look: Lilac Shimmer

How To Create: Nikki DeRoest gave away no clues as to the products she used here, but as it’s quite a minimal look, recreating it should be straightforward. Try using a liquid shimmer shadow, like Stila’s Magnificent Metals in Gypsy or Ballet Baby. Tap it on all over the lids and run a little along the lash line for a replica effect. As for lips and cheeks, seek out peachy shades that tie in with the pretty pastel look. Keep brows sharp and angular to bring in a slight masculine element.

Mollie, Chloe Goddard

The Look: High-Shine Skin & Violet Lids

How To Create: This glossy look is as much about the vibrant lids as it is the high-shine, creamy skin. Using Fenty’s new Pro Filt’r Hydrating Foundation in shade 470, Chloe layered it over Mollie’s skin for a radiant finish before concealing any uneven patches with NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer in Hazelnut. Sticking with Fenty, she drew on Matchstix Highlighters in Espresso and Bordeaux Brat for the wet-look cheeks. Finally, lids were smattered with a few sweeps of purple from the Anastasia Beverly Hills Jackie Aina Eyeshadow Palette. For similar effects, layer a lighter shade from the palette up to the brow bone for extra enhancement and definition.

Elizabeth Olsen, Naoko Scintu

The Look: Fresh & Simplistic

How To Create: Fresh and simplistic with a ‘country girl’ feel, this beauty look is all about keeping things tonal, while enhancing natural beauty – aka freckles. If you’re not blessed with little beauty spots, fake them using Lottie London’s new tint that you gently dot onto the cheeks for realistic results. As for eyes, seek out soft taupe eyeshadows, and glossy rose balm for lips to fully recreate Elizabeth Olsen’s look. A little dab of BECCA’s Glaze Stick across the apples of the cheeks will tie everything together.

Gigi Hadid, Patrick Ta

The Look: Razor-Sharp Feline Flicks

How To Create: A look like this requires serious precision, so look to either gel liners you have full control over, or a liner that’s hard to get wrong, like Revlon’s Exactify Liquid Liner – the pizza-cutter edge means flawless flicks every time. As for lips, go bold à la Gigi, and apply straight from the bullet for full pigment and impact. Keep skin glossy and sheeny with a misting of Patrick Ta’s Major Glow Highlight Mist.

Christy Turlington, Pati Dubroff

The Look: Flashes Of Blue

How To Create: Who says grown-ups can’t wear colourful make-up? Certainly not A-list make-up master Pati Dubroff, who used Maybelline make-up to subtly line the upper lids and enhance Christy Turlington’s brown eyes. Lips were slicked with a nude, peachy gloss, while a cream blush was pressed into the cheeks for added warmth. Definitely one of the chicest ways to wear a wash of colour.

Florence Kosky, Zoe Taylor

The Look: Creamy, Glossy Lids

How To Create: This glossy, creamy eye is probably our favourite make-up look this month. Zoe Taylor used Hourglass Vanish Seamless Foundation to perfect the skin, before running Trish McEvoy Fast Track Eye Stick in Rich Brown all over the eyelids and up to the sockets. To get that full-on dewy finish, she tapped Bobbi Brown Crystal Lip Gloss over the top and kept cheeks fresh with Surratt Artistique Blush in Cantaloup.

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Nikki DeRoest

The Look: Warm, Caramel Tones

How To Create: We love it when Nikki shares a full breakdown of the products she used for her signature looks, which is exactly what she did here. She started to create Rosie’s dewy, fresh complexion with Chanel’s Les Beiges Water Tint, then patted Kosas Cosmetics Cream Blushers into the cheeks and up to her temples. As for the eyes, Nikki used Roen Beauty 52 Palette in shades ‘YEP’ and ‘BASK’ to sculpt those impeccably glossy lids. Lips were kept to a bare minimum with Bobbi Brown’s Lip Pencil in Ballet Pink and Lip Gloss in Nude. Perfection.

Samantha Chapman, Make-Up Artist

The Look: Disco Shimmer

How To Create: Using the same palette as Nikki did on Rosie above, Samantha Chapman created what she has dubbed ‘speedy smoke’ here and sculpted in the shadows with Real Techniques Brush Crush Eyeshadow Brush. Sam topped up the lids with Roen Beauty Summer Disco Eyeshadow to bring some extra highlight and sparkle, before lining the eyes with MAC Shape & Shade Pencil in Prunella Kohl. To finish, she filled in the lips with Pat McGrath 1995 Lipstick With Contour Lip Pencil. This is the ultimate night-out look we will be replicating at the weekend.
