Make-Up Artist, Georgina Graham, Shares Her Beauty Dozen

A-list favourite make-up artist, Georgina Graham, regularly paints the faces of Naomi Campbell, Chloë Moretz and Sophia Loren to name a few – she makes every colour seem wearable and has an effortless approach to beauty. So, who better to quiz on their top beauty products and tricks of all time? From the £7.95 skincare she can’t live without to the mascara she stockpiles, this is her beauty dozen…

For Cleansing…

I swear by DHC’s Deep Cleansing Oil. It’s from Japan and has now become a cult beauty item across the world. I use it to take off all my make-up because it works on my constantly dehydrated, sensitive skin like nothing else and leaves my complexion feeling clean and comfortable. It doesn’t mess with my contact lenses either and removes all traces of make-up – including intense, thick mascara.

DHC Deep Cleansing Oil, £24

For A Warm Glow…

I don’t really like to use blusher on myself but I need a little something on my cheeks and RMS’ Buriti Bronzer is an item I find myself buying on repeat. It’s ultra-sheer, gives a gorgeous glow to my skin and people constantly tell me how well I look with it on – which frankly, I’ll take. I also like that there is no orange of pink or grey and it just gives you a warm, sun-kissed look. I actually found out about it from supermodel Edita Vilkeviciute when we were on a fashion story for Vogue Paris and she pulled it out and asked me to use it on her, after trying it I was hooked. So, I like to apply it just under my cheekbone and do a fade up and outwards using either a brush but this product is also great with fingers too as it’s so malleable and easy to use.

RMS Buriti Bronzer, £26

For Oils…

I love Tata Harper’s Beautifying Face Oil. In fact, I just love her entire brand philosophy and she has totally nailed it on covetable, natural, luxe products that actually work. This oil is my absolute must-have. I adore the smell and enjoy using it for a mini lymphatic drainage face massage. I will always use this oil in the morning or at night before my serum and moisturiser. My big top tip is to add a single drop to your liquid foundation – it creates the most luminous finish you can imagine. Use a beauty blender to apply it too for the best finish.

Tata Harper's Beautifying Face Oil, £68

For Day Cream…

Weleda’s Skin Food is my go-to everyday cream and it’s only £7.95. It’s thick and gorgeous and I always recommend it to my friends as the drugstore Crème de La Mer. It’s an all-natural multi tasker and can be used to soothe skin post sun, I put it on my hands and lips too. My top tip is use it as a mask and sleep in a really thick layer once in a while and you will wake up with mega hydrated skin.

Weleda's Skin Food, £12.95

For Multi-Tasking…

I’m obsessed with La Prairie’s Anti-Aging Eye and Lip Perfection à Porter. It’s a compact with an eye serum that’s ideal for applying underneath your eyes when you need a quick make-up refresh. I apply it at different times during the day or between work and going out when I haven’t got time to take off my make-up and start again. I also like to apply a little around the mouth area and sides of the nostrils to keep flaky, dry skin at bay. The lip balm inside is gorgeous too. It has a high shine and I like to use it tapped onto my cheekbones and lids for a glossy, cool-girl look or worn over eyeliner for a grunge, sexy disco effect. It’s basically my go-to product for the ability of changing up a look in a heartbeat.

La Prairie’s Anti-Aging Eye and Lip Perfection à Porter, £125

For Mascara…

MAC Haute & Naughty Too Black Mascara is my favourite. It’s inky black and has a double-ended wand with a dual-wiper system so you can totally customise your style for minimal, natural or super dramatic. I like to wiggle the wand at the root of the lash and build it up there but ignore the tips of the lashes for a fresh, current vibe.

MAC Haute & Naughty Too Black Mascara, £20

For Lipstick…

I adore the natural, matte texture of Glossier’s Generation G Lipstick in Cake. They describe this colour as a subtle peach but I think it’s more of a gentle rust. I like to apply it as one coat for a mega sheer matte effect, but you can easily build it up for more depth of colour if you prefer. You don’t need a lip pencil with it either – you just apply straight from the bullet and get this soft, blow-out diffused lip I can’t get enough of. Like I said, I am obsessed.

Glossier’s Generation G Lipstick, £14

For Foundation…

La Prairie’s Skin Caviar Essence In Foundation is a mainstay in my kit. It has a sponge applicator and a handy, compact mirror that makes it essential for on-the-go touch-ups. As bases go, it’s really the only one I use on myself because its sheer, lightweight texture mimics the skin without ever looking cakey or heavy. It hydrates too with the caviar infusion and keeps you protected at all times with SPF 25.

La Prairie's Skin Caviar Essence in Foundation, £148

For Eyeliner…

Lucia Pica at Chanel has come up with this clever twist up contour pencil from Chanel in Electric Brown. It can be used as a kohl liner or a shadow and its silky texture means you have decent playtime before it sets. I like to apply it through the eye socket pre-foundation to create a perfectly contoured, defined eye. The foundation then applied over it actually makes way for a soft blown out effect that is so flattering and subtle, too.

Chanel Stylo Ombre et Contour, £25

For Brows…

I have mastered the art of perfect brows with Maybelline’s Tattoo Brow Pomade in Taupe. It colours, fills, sculpts and tames all in one. The formula is super pigmented but it’s also quite creamy so you can amp your brows up or down and play around. My advice? Use it super lightly for soft definition. It comes with a double-ended brush and spoolie but I prefer to use my own brush which is MAC Cosmetics 266 Small Angled Brush. Don’t be put off by the fact it has tattoo in the name, it’s actually quicker and easier to use than a pencil in my opinion.

Maybelline’s Tattoo Brow, £9.99

For Hydrated Lips…

O’Keefe’s Lip Repair is my go-to for hydrated lips. It’s mega affordable, heavy duty and hard-working. While it looks like something my builder would pull out of his pocket, it does exactly what it claims and keeps lips feeling soft and moisturised for days – I defy anyone not to fall in love with it.

O’Keefe’s Lip Repair, £4.25

For Glow…

Pixi’s Glow Mist is technically a make-up finish spray, but instead of the ones on the market that feel like hairspray, this feels hydrating and leaves you with pretty luminosity. It also refreshes make-up if used later in the day and nourishes skin. It can be used in the hair too for shine and on the body for that red-carpet flawless finish.

Pixi Glow Mist, £16
