This is expensive so if you're not blow-drying your hair a lot it's probably not worth the money. But if you are, it's a great beauty investment. This is the lightest hairdryer I've ever used, it comes with five heat settings and two speed switches – perfect for doing the back and fringe. Another bonus is the built-in ion generator which left my hair smooth and fizz-free. The only downside is that it probably takes me a couple more minutes to do a full blow-dry, but if it's saving my hair from damage, I'm happy to get up five minutes earlier.

I call this my 'going-out-out' hair dryer – nothing else has dried my hair as fast or with as much shine. It's powerful and hot, so it’s perfect if you have thick, unruly hair like mine. I tend to only use it if I'm in rush or want glossy results with minimal effort and no kinks. Downside? I can feel it damaging my hair so a good heat protector is an absolute must.

Dyson Supersonic Hairdryer

It’s a little heavier than I was expecting, but this works in half the time of a regular dryer, despite maintaining a set temperature that won’t damage your hair. Given the hefty price tag, I was hoping not to fall in love with it, but I can’t deny this is seriously impressive, not to mention easy to use with just a few buttons.

I’ve had my current hairdryer for over 10 years, I’m reluctant to give it up – we’ve been through many a hair ‘mare together. But then comes the new Parlux Alyon, with its blue stay-cool casing, soft, low profile switches and built-in cable flex. And best of all, it’s incredibly powerful (if you want it to be), and as such dried my hair ridiculously quickly. So quickly in fact, that I’ve retired old faithful to the bin.

This was so impressively light! Its wattage is ace too at 2200 and I really liked the added iconic system which is in-built to help smooth frizzy, flyaway hair. It’s affordable price point give competitors a run for their money.

This hairdryer is perfect if you have slightly frizzy hair like me. I also hasten to add I’m not the type to blow dry my hair in sections – I’m the shake it around for 10 minutes type and usually end up with a massive, frizzy mess – but not this time. I used the dryer on both the cool and hot air setting which, combined were a catalyst for drying time, and left me with dry, voluminous, smooth & shiny hair. I didn’t need to use any of my usual styling products to tame the usual frizz – I was just good to go!

It also has a cool shot button which is not only good for your scalp, but also worked well to keep my style in place. It’s also noticeably quieter than any others I’ve tried. I’m sold.

I have ridiculously thick hair so a normal drying session takes me a solid 30 minutes and my hair will still feel damp! However, this hairdryer has literally changed my life. Not only did it take under 10 minutes (which is unheard of for me), but it also adapted its temperature for my hair. Usually I find that when I've dried my hair with a hairdryer, it's left feeling dry and brittle. However, I went to bed that night with my hair feeling the softest it's felt in months! Honestly, I can't give this dryer higher praise. My only change would be a few less buttons to figure out what they actually do.
