MAKE-UP
Smoke & Brighten Kajal Liners, £24 | Estée Lauder
Smooth, creamy and available in some grown-up shades, these Kajal liners aren’t to be missed. We love how they glide on so seamlessly but don’t set immediately, so you still have some time to smudge and buff them into a smokey or soft line. ‘Sky Blue’ is our favourite – use the lighter end to brighten the inner corners of the eye and your waterline for a widening effect.

Pillow Talk Beautifying Face Palette, £60 | Charlotte Tilbury
Charlotte Tilbury’s face palettes are always a hit and this latest one is no exception. Offering both matte and shimmer shades, it works on the eyes and cheeks to sculpt, define and add depth to your look. Take a big fluffy brush and run it over all the shades before buffing it in or use the shades one by one to enhance certain areas. The soft, suits-all pinks and taupes will add a healthy-looking flush of colour.

Translucent Pure Setting Spray, £33 | Laura Mercier
This setting spray is a real gem. It’s one of the first we’ve come across that doesn’t feel heavy or sticky, providing an invisible coat of protection, while also preventing excess oiliness from developing throughout the day. Unlike other formulas, it’s fragrance and alcohol-free too, so it doesn’t cause dryness or flaking. We love the addition of hydrating glycerin, which keeps your complexion smooth and moisturised all day long.
Available at CultBeauty.co.uk
Sheer Skin Tint, £40 | Summer Fridays
This might be our favourite skin tint ever. The watery consistency is easy to blend, and it contains just the right amount of coverage to conceal and smooth. We love the dewy dry down that leaves your complexion looking quenched and fresh, too. At £40, it’s an investment, but a little goes a long way, so it will last for months.

Modern Radiance Concealer, £22 | Vieve
If you need a new concealer, make it this one. With a large applicator brush, it covers a big surface in one go, so much so you’ll find you don’t need foundation on top. The texture itself is a liquid, but it dries down matte – added hyaluronic acid means you still get a slight sheen to the skin but without that cake-y feel. It’s also seriously brightening – great for dark circles.

Double Booked Lip Cream & Conditioner, £27 | Wander Beauty
Great for on-the-go, this all-in-one lip cream and conditioner works double time to hydrate and add a wash of colour. You get the buildable coverage of a lipstick, but with the comfort of a balm thanks to ingredients like shea butter and vitamin E. Scribble it on and blend it out with your finger – keep it sheer, or layer up for more impact, no mirror required.

Brighten Up Colour Corrector, £13 | Sculpted By Aimee Connolly
Created to neutralise sallow tones within your skin and around the eye, this corrector softens, brightens and smooths discolouration at speed. The malleable texture is so easy to blend out and layer with other textures and you while you can use a brush to apply it, we recommend using your fingers to help melt the product into your skin.

BODY
Encore Body Wash, £8 | & Other Stories
The & Other Stories beauty section is always worth a look. Every texture and formula is well thought out, including this new Midnight Encore Body Wash. Velvety and thick, the clean, fresh scent belies its affordable price tag, thanks to a sophisticated blend of black pepper, amber and soft cashmere wood notes. A real feel-good buy.

De Los Santos, £38 | Byredo
If you’re after something indulgent for your next bath or shower, try Byredo’s new De Los Santos body wash. Rich with the original fragrance – it’s musky, smoky and green all at once – it coats your skin for days afterwards. A good way to try some of Byredo’s cult fragrances without committing to the price of a larger bottle, it’s smooth, gel texture quickly lathers up and hydrates skin while leaving it feeling clean and refreshed. It’s still an expense, but a real treat if you’re inclined.

FRAGRANCE
Zero, £120 | Comme Des Garcons
Ever since Comme des Garcons’ ‘Amazing Green’ launch, we’ve been hooked on the brand’s fragrances. The latest drop – ‘Zero’ – is perfect for this time of year. Full of warming florals, like rose and bergamot, but balanced out with cashmere, musk and cedar for that cosy, autumnal feel. It feels expensive, but the scent is never overpowering or cloying. Finally, a rose fragrance that feels modern rather than sickly sweet.

SKINCARE
Clarify SA Toner, £25 | Pestle & Mortar
Pestle & Mortar is a brand that doesn’t get nearly enough airtime. Effective but simple formulas make it a great brand for all skin types and we love its new toner, which uses salicylic acid to unclog pores, and niacinamide to counteract inflammation and redness. With regular use, it helps to keep skin in check, minimise spots and reduce oiliness – all without stripping your skin of its natural moisture. You’ll find your complexion looks much brighter as a result. Use it post-cleanse once or twice a week.

Hydration Super Serum, £22 | Seoulista
Seoulista is one of our favourite brands for affordable sheet masks. Now it’s expanding its range with serums, and we can’t recommend this one enough. There are three in total – hydration, calming and brightening – so you can choose the right one based on your needs. The hydrating one feels instantly cooling on the skin, while hyaluronic acid, vitamin B5 and squalane get to work plumping and calming irritation. It soaks up any dryness in a flash and leaves skin feeling fresh and glow-y. The texture is thin, so it dries quickly and means you can layer other products on top without fear of piling.

Balancing Act Toner Pads, £31 | Tula Skin
These biodegradable pads are perfect for anyone looking to add a quick and easy toning step into their routine. Soaked with ingredients like lactic acid, witch hazel and mint leaf, they gently exfoliate the skin, removing dead cells and dirt, while simultaneously hydrating it with pre and probiotics. Immediately, skin looks brighter and smoother – just like after a facial. They feel amazing on the skin too, and never irritate because they’re alcohol free. Chuck them into your compost once you’re done to let them break down naturally.

Cicapair Tiger Grass Camo Drops, £31 | Dr Jart
Just like the brand's cult Colour Correcting Cream, these clever drops work to target specific areas, easing irritation and minimising sensitivity at speed. They're ideal if you only want to smooth a little bit of skin rather than your whole complexion. The green tint quickly turns into a beige shade that adapts to your skin tone, smoothing everything out and giving a hint of glow so that you never look sallow or dull. Wear them on their own, or layer up with foundation for further coverage. Added centella asiatica - which is proven to reduce inflammation immediately and long-term - quickly alleviates feelings of discomfort within your skin and keeps redness at bay. Extra points for the added SPF20.

Oasis Bright Vitamin C Serum, £75 | Whind
If you suffer with sunspots or want to brighten up your complexion, look to Whind's vitamin C serum. Designed to regulate melanin levels within your skin, just a small amount keeps your complexion smooth, supple and even in tone. Dermatologically tested, it's suitable for all skin types too - unlike some vitamin C serums - and is balanced with arbutin. The latter is an ingredient that works hard to boost the brightening benefits of vitamin C, while prickly pear cushions any inflammation. We love the glow it offers, and how lightweight, yet nourishing it feels.

HAIR
Sweet Repair Mask, £12.75 | Coco & Eve
Post-summer, hair can often feel extra dry. Masks can be hit and miss, but we’ve seen visible results with this one. Containing hyaluronic acid, vegan keratin and coconut oil, it’s full of hair-repairing ingredients to prevent shedding, splitting and breakage. Apply it for at least 45 minutes for best results, before rinsing it out and shampooing as normal. You’ll need to use it a couple of times to see a difference, but the more you do, the more hair will have better bounce, smoothness and elasticity. Perfect for those who regularly colour or chemically treat their hair.

DAILY ESSENTIALS
BARE Shave & Trim, $49.99 | Skin Gym
Designed with reuse in mind, simply charge this shaver up and clean it to use it again. With titanium blades – which are sharp but not abrasive – it catches every little hair for completely smooth results. We love that it doesn’t snag or pull and that it’s compact enough to fit in your palm, so you can reach all those nooks and crannies.

Small Pouch, £79 | Stoney Clover Lane
Need a new make-up bag? This one from Stoney Clover is chic and will last you for ages thanks to its sturdy materials. The transparent front allows you to see everything at once, so it’s great for travel, too. It may look small, but there’s plenty of room for all your day-to-day essentials. A great gift for a friend or loved one.

Gold Skin Foundation Brush, £44 | Guerlain
We love a kabuki-style brush, which is why this one from Guerlain caught our eye. With its thick wooden handle, it’s easy to manoeuvre for flawless application every time. As for the brush head, it’s wide with soft, fluffy bristles that skim the skin without any irritation and blend out all textures – be it creams, liquids or powders. A worthy investment, this brush will be in your beauty bag for years to come.
